BIOGRAPHY
t.Mule and his Washburn develop subtle harmonies and brash melodies, a style that draws upon the guitars rich textures and the Mule’s gnarled yet haunting vocals. Together, they ride on the bridges that connect the overhang of traditional folk and country to the ledge of alternative rock.
Although his music spans many styles, his lyrics took form with strong influences from the tall tale world of Robert Hunter and the atmospheric creations of Tom Waits.
His appearances on stage began at Kalamazoo, MI open mike nights where he honed his first songs. Years later he found his voice, a versatile instrument in itself, crawling the floor of a small bar in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Now in Boulder, t.Mule is drawing in new ears eager to hear tales of woe, gambling, traveling and drinking. Singing confessions of love to his beauty in a far away village, presenting wonders of dream lands filled with witches, whiskey and tire swings. Mule is sewing a patchwork tapestry outside the boundaries of today’s popular music.

Sounds Like: The Mule has created an aural world steeped knee deep in the mud of country, the brambles of folk, and the bitters of rock. His lyrics churn love and heartache with spit and bile. Blending the bones of his musical past, the Mule carves makeshift stories in the forests surrounding modern pop music.

the earth is hungry. EP Lyrics

Lonely, Lost and StarvedEveryone was standing in the dark, no-one could tellThe time from the clockAnd words along with reason came unfurledWhen as a girl you said to me, Its time to rule the world ...
