About Me

THE DARK AVATAR IS AN ELECTRO/ROCK TRIO. THE BAND'S SOUND SHOWCASES THE LYRICAL POETRY OF FRONTMAN MICHAEL PONELLA. HIS UNIQUE VOCAL STYLE IS CRAFTILY WOVEN THROUGH THE RAW, MELODIC GUITAR LINES OF SEAN V, AND THE EXPLOSIVE BASS AND SYNTHESIZER WORK OF BRANDON STROTHMAN. THE BAND RECEIVED THUMBS UP FROM DIVERSE ARTISTS SUCH AS MIKE CLIP PAYNE (WHO WAS IN THE STUDIO DURING THE VOCAL RECORDING OF "DEVIL") FROM PARLIMENT-FUNKADELIC AND INSPECTAH DECK OF THE WU-TANG CLAN. THE ESTONIAN RADIO PROGRAM "RONTGEN RADIO" DESCRIBED THE BAND AS "THE INDUSTRIAL DOORS- AN ELECTRO DANZIG" ("TWISTED QUEEN" AND "DEVIL" WERE PREMIERED ON THE RONTGEN RADIO PLAYLIST ALONG WITH MINISTRY). THE BAND'S EP HAS BEEN FEATURED ON SEVERAL UK RADIO STATIONS INCLUDING 103FM THE EYE, CUR 1350, AND XFM. THEIR EP WAS PRODUCED BY PROGRESSIVE NYC PRODUCER CHRIS YOUNG AT SUPER EGO PRODUCTIONS IN NYC (GEORGE CLINTON, INSPECTAH DECK, THE RAVEONETTES, THE CRYSTAL METHOD).
