Hi, my name is Jimmy McDonald. I'm an acoustic guitar singer/songwriter with nothing new to say. I just keep my fingers crossed every single day that you like listening to the way I say it.
I write all my music and lyrics as well as doing all of my production and arrangement work. I maintain my own website and book my own shows. Allow me to talk about my music for a minute:
I started playing guitar in the 4th grade, when I learned how to play "Dust in the Wind". I knew how to play that one song for a few months, got frustrated and quit until sophomore year of high school, when a friend of mine would invite me over his house to figure out songs he downloaded off of Napster (the old one that got outlawed) so he could play them. I figured out a dozen or so songs for him, then started getting curious as to what else was out there. I began listening to rock and roll with more of a "trained ear". I started listening to the blues. The kicker was when my sister brought home a Stevie Ray Vaughan boxed set from the library. It knocked me off my feet, and I've been trying to play the guitar ever since.
I started writing songs towards the end of my senior year in high school with my band "LockStep". I wrote music, but never felt anything with lyrics until I heard a few singer/songwriters like John Mayer and Matt Nathanson. From that point on, I realized that writing was as good of a therapy session as it was an expression. I've been trying to dig deeper for music ever since.
I went to the Berklee College of Music for about 5 months, and dropped out to join a band that had promise to burst onto the scene...but it fell through. So I was out of school, out of a job, and the only thing I was getting any good at was writing music. So here I am... chasing the dream. If this doesn't work out, then I don't believe in destiny.

Endorsing Artist for PBR (No, I don't get free beer for my shows!)
