I was born and raised in Houston, I had always had an eye on the future while laying the foundation to climb the ladder of success. My first love has always been basketball, but when my hoop dream did not materialize, I realized that I had to make money to become my own man. As most hoods , either you're slinging crack rock or got a wicked jump shot. But I began to hustle by squandering my money to create Ice Age Entertainment in 2001 to pursue my other love: rapping. Whenever I get tired and feel too weak to move, I look at the tattoo engraved on my arm for inspiration. It reads: "If you don't work you don't eat, you don't grind you don't shine. Anything my routine, 90% grind, 10% sleep. I grind so much I hardly get sleep. I'm not comfortable sleeping, but I dream, Mike Jones." If I'm at home sleeping, I'm doing nothing but dreaming. That's what got me here. If I'm awake, grinding, and putting effort into it, I'mma be alright. I'mma keep hustling and producing good music. I give the streets what they want to hear. I signed a major record deal with Warner Bros. record company. My first major album, Who Is Mike Jones?, was released on April 19, 2005. The album has since had three singles and gone Platinum in the United States. My album debuted at #3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 album charts in 2005, peaking at #2. My production team has been noted for their use of audio samples of artists ranging from yodelers to Tchaikovsky. I will be working with Clint Saulsberry in 2005 on a number of remixes. I am now preparing for my next album, "The American Dream," which, as I stated in several songs (including Bow Wow's Fresh Azimiz remix, E-40's I'm Da Man and in Big Kuntry's hit song Ol Skool), was expected to be released on April 19, 2006. However, before releasing American Dream, Me and my seven-man crew, Ice Age, will release a mixtape, Ice Age Volume 2: The Takeover, followed by an official LP. [1] He has also started acting, guest staring on Fox's Prison Break on numerous occasions. I have reported that i will be releasing my next album, "The American Dream," in late September.
