Mr. Dex has been involved in music from a very early age the Violin and French horn and collecting vinyl since the early 80’s. His collection and musical tastes includes Hip-Hop, Soul, Rare Grooves, Jazz, RnB & Breaks. Since the start of his DJ career in the late 90’s he has shared the stage alongside artists and DJs including: DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Cash Money [DMC], DJ Maseo [De La Soul], Ghostface, Sway, Scratch Perverts [DMC], DJ MK [Kiss100], Estelle, Terri Walker, Omar, Jhest, Blak Twang & Lethal B.
He also worked in street promotions for record labels including Tommy Boy, Rawkus and Source/Wordplay on projects for artists including Reflection Eternal, CNN, De La Soul, Big L & Slum Village. Between 2003-06 he Dj’d and hosted on radio shows ‘ Food 4 Da Brain ’ & ‘Live @ The Beathut ’ [sponsored by Beathut Music respectively on London’s No. 1 Hip Hop Station Itch FM 105.1 . During 2004-06 he served as Tour DJ on Klashnekoff’s ‘Sagas of Klashnekoff’ tour as well as DJing for Terrafirma [Klashnekoff, Kyza and Skriblah] and also spun DJ sets at venues induding The Jazz Café, Cargo & Fabric
At present he spends time as a freelance Music Technology tutor, producing beats and learning the drums. He has worked on government funded projects involving schools and youth centres across London as well as working on projects with young offenders.
