I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm just me. Hard to sum up who I am in some little blurb like this, but here's some insights. Job: Planned Parenthood OSBC, School: Chapman University - graduating in may w/ degree in sociology, Hometown: Arcata (A-Town), CA, Religious persuasions: amalgamation of a bit of everything, Jewish, Sufi, Favorite color: green, Things I like: awesome movies, naps, the company of my friends, cooking for myself (and anyone else who wants to be adventurous and try my concoctions, ha), reading (no more textbooks!), being political and nerdy at work, and I'm sure many other things that just don't come to mind right now.

My Interests

Trying new things - being adventurous, and then again I also have a very large interest in sleeping and watching movies. Depends on which day you catch me on.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone super cool

Music:

I like it all... give me some good music and I'll listen to it. But if you were to look through my collection you'd find my favorite J's - John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, and Jimmy Eat World. There's probably more. Moving through the rest of the alphabet you got your Ben Harper, Spearhead, Outkast, Wilco, Paul Simon, Plain White T's, Bob Marley, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Howie Day, Maroon 5, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Death Cab for Cutie Matchbox 20, the Mauraders (woo hoo!), Simon and Garfunkel, Sublime, James Taylor, any good soundtrack or compilation, Tupac, U2, Van Morrison, The Wallflowers, Bonnie Rait, Eminem, Flogging Molly, Frou Frou, Gavin DeGraw, Jurassic 5, Jackson Browne, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Michael Jackson, Dispatch, The Roots, The Matches, Matt Nathanson, the Dean ... ok, I'm getting bored with this. I'll listen to whatever as long as it's good and I enjoy it, so don't judge me by my music.

Movies:

This one is hard. Too many movies to think of and I know I will forget them all. Here we go: Moulin Rouge, Fight Club, Finding Nemo, Garden State, Igby Goes Down, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Robin Hood (the original Disney), The Notebook, Death to Smoochy, Almost Famous, Good Will Hunting, Saved, Office Space, Singing in the Rain, Casablanca, Psycho, Mean Girls, Shawshank Redemption, I Heart Huckabees, That Thing You Do, Strictly Ballroom, Romeo and Juliet, Clueless

Television:

Friends - always... ER, Grays Anatomy, Nip/Tuck, Law and Order SVU (it's addicting), anything on the Food Network, The Daily Show, The Simpsons, Desperate Housewives, Six Feet Under, Sex and the City. I'll pretty much watch anything if I'm bored enough though.

Books:

Harry Potter (no comments, I love it, end of story), Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, She's Come Undone, White Oleander, I Know This Much is True. Wow, I look like Oprah's Book Club list - if anyone has ideas for new books, let me know.

My Blog

wtf - mystery flooding

So would it bother you if you walked into the kitchen and the floor (area rug) was sopping wet with no water around it - situated in the middle of a room? Yeah, it bothered me. Especially since it was...

Work is dull

Surprise surprise, I'm bored at work. There is rarely a time when I'm not bored out of my mind here - partly because I don't really understand how things work so when people call I can't really h...

yeah, it's still the happiest place on earth

So I love Disneyland, that's not really a questionable statement. But sometimes I forget how much I still actually enjoy it. I got to see my friend Sarah today (from home - choir) and spend the day at...

Writer's Block Hell

This tends to happen at the end of the semester. A general lack of interest in my classes or the outcome of whatever I turn in. Actually, that's shit. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm still one of t...

the waiting game

It's 8:30, frankly I've been up since around 5:30 - seems like sleep isn't something I'm needing so much of lately. So I edited my paper, made myself a nice breakfast, finished packing, put all my stu...

nervous butterflys

I have that knotted nervous nauseous (woah, look at my alliteration!) feeling in my stomach at the moment. The day has come when I have to leave this gorgeous island in the southern hemisphere and ven...

laundry woes

don't you just hate when you go down to the laundry room and the one washing machine has wet clean clothes in it, but the person hasn't come to switch it to the dryer? So you wait - being courteous an...

Star Wars geek I am

Wouldn't life be just lovely if school didn't involve working on pathetic and non-important, time consuming projects? Here I am in Australia, I have one month left (which in itself is amazing), starin...

Some thoughts

Hello people. Doubtful anyone will actually read this, but I am going to blog anyway. I'm a blog virgin you know... Here it goes. So I've been in Australia for about a week and a half. Wow, coolest al...
