About Me

I use the nickname AGUA in forums and websites when it is available, because I believe it's a beautiful word full of meanings. Agua means WATER. Water is essencial. We are water, we need water to survive. But water can kill too. In many cultures water represents birth, resurection or purification. Spring brings flowers thanks to water. Water is a gift from nature that we tend to waste and misuse. It's not a living being, but it's more alive than any being on Earth. Ok, a bio: I was born the youngest of six children, which makes life very easy as my parents were quite relaxed and my siblings had much to teach. Soon after I was born I almost died. The official version of the story involves dehydration but I’m quite sure that someone who had not read "Peter Pan" said ‘I don’t believe in fairies’. Luckily, there was someone else who clapped hands. I tried to grow up, but I didn’t actually grow much. I tried to study as every child at school, but didn’t really study much either…I didn’t do anything ...much, so I became quite a mediocre person, but satisfied with myself, since the effort was proportional to the result. I went to University and worked during summers. I was never drawn back by the jobs I had to do and always found the good side of them: It does not matter if you have to clean hotel rooms (yes, including toilets), wait tables or bear spoilt brats if in the end you get paid. Money meant independence and a certain amount of freedom during the academic year and I could pay my dance and French classes, which I took as a measure not to forget about my mediocrity (though my academic life was enough of a reminder). Meanwhile I began dating a friend and ended up marrying him, which up to now has proved to be beneficial for my personal and social life, as well as for my mental health. While I tried to get a PhD, I began to teach English in several places, until I got to teach in three at the same time, one of them in another town. Unlike my marriage, working with teenagers proved to be harmful for my little sanity, but thanks God I got a post at University. On 30th November 2007 I gave birth to two lovely twin boys. Motherhood is one of the most tiring and grateful experience(even more than cleaning toilets!). Now I have a job I love, a very good relationship with all my family, a loving and lovable husband, twin babies and lots of friends without whom I wouldn’t survive. I also have literature, music, technology (a love-hate relationship), wine, Spanish omelette…and lots of things I need. In all these years I’ve learnt that the knowledge does occupy place (or at least my brain has not enough place for knowledge) and that a heart can hold much more than it seems to. If I learn anything else, I’ll keep you posted.

My Interests

Languages, dancing and choreographies, beautiful places, beautiful people (check top eight friends)....My family, friends and loved ones in general.

I'd like to meet:

My foreign* friends...more often.*foreign: Not Spanish.Well, there are some Spanish friends that I'd like to meet more often too.

Music:

Many, among them, what you can see in my top 8 friends (sometimes I change them, 'cause music depends on mood). Alastair Artingstall

Movies:

Love going to the cinema and watching films at home. Most genres, but musicals with lots of dancing are probably my favourite.

Television:

I don't watch much...just films and some funny stuff

Books:

Seneca said that it does not matter how many books you have, the important thing is to have good books. I love reading, but I don't read much lately, how contradictory...Well yes, I'm reading lots about being pregnant and babies, but that's the same as reading "How to..." books and it doesn't count.

Heroes:

Ummm, there's no "art" section in myspace...It says very little about Tom. Richard Estes "Telephone Booths" Pablo Gargallo "Greta Garbo"

Here's a video of the new born babies. Mario is the one in yellow and Pedro in blue. Being their mum all I can say is, 'Aren't they the most beautiful babies in the world!' (I can't post the video, so...

Yann Tiersen + Smooth

On Tuesday I went to a gig and well, it was ... interesting. I liked the supporters more than the main show. They were a French band called Smooth. They do some kind of techno-pop-Jazz. They were grea...

The story about the wave in TWM.

I've just read a book I've liked a lot. It's Tuesdays With Morrie. Morrie is an old professor who is dying and his student/friend Mitch (the author) visits him during his last months.   My lovely...
