Joel Ray, a visionary , innovator, and artist in every since of the word who was born and raised outside of Houston , Texas in the small town of Deer Park, best known for the home of New York Yankee's pitching great Andy Petitte. This Avant-garde artist is set for big things, already writing history by signing to Valiant Entertainment as the first painter to sign to a record label. Joel Ray will revolutionize the way art is perceived in today's society and those to come.Joel discovered his God given talent at an early age by winning local awards in art during grade school. It wasn't until the year of 2000 when Joel met world class artist Marcus Mann who convinced him to pick up a paint brush for the first time that Joel realized his calling in life. "Marcus was my mentor through the art world and life and the single most important person in becoming the artist I am today, and for that. I am grateful", said Joel. Music also plays a major part in Joel's art who says his art could not exist without music. "Music paints a picture and a painting sings a song" Joel Ray.At twelve years of age Joel was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes "It was a life altering change that put life into a valuable perspective on the quality of life." Joel said. Years later Joel began using his art to help others through charities in Houston's upscale scene. His first break was through Sting's Rainforest Foundation Gala where his painting was one of the top donations of the event hosted by Lucho Flores and Carolyn Farb. Since that event Joel's paintings have helped numerous well recognize organizations raise money for good causes.In 2007 Joel Ray was signed to Valiant Entertainment by CEO Val D. Adams after meeting with Huy Nguyen VP of A&R/Artist Development (formally the A&R Director for Destiny's Child and Beyonce') and Val D. Adams. With Joel's application of vibrant colors and unique style of brush strokes he creates an essence around his subjects objective or non objective Joel imparts his soul through his paintings.
