My Interests

I'd like to meet:

...a buck tooth girl from Luxembourg.

Music:

The usual suspects amongst the British rock glitterati (Beatles, Stones, Pistols, Bowie blah... blah... blah) as well as their American brothers and sisters ( The Ramones, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix and his Band Of Gypsies, Janis Joplin, The Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop & his Stooges, The Violent Femmes , etc...etc... etc); an unhealthy obsession with The Soft Boys ; the usual and unsual suspects of Britpop, Welsh-Hop (Super Furry Animals, Kentucky AFC, MC Mabon) and Ameri-experimental-alterna-rawk (Pixies, Flaming Lips, Grandaddy, Beck, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mercury Rev, blah, blah, blah); a deep-seeded need to expand my nerd-like knowledge and seemingly never-ending collection of soul and funk ( Sly & The Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Parliament, Funkadellic, James Brown, Buddy Miles, Sugar Pie DeSanto... lordy I could go on); Blues masters like John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson ; I could keep going but I am just way too lazy.

Books:

I usually have a handful of books on the go at any one time (absolutely no attention span whatsoever)... right now I'm reading "The Hungry Years: Confessions of a Food Addict" by William Leith, "The Timetraveler's Wife" (which I'm find a bit boring) and I've just finished "The Nasty Bits" by Anthony Bourdain (who's pretty brilliant no matter what he writes).

i loathe the bus...

I think I should stick to my bike from now on.  London transport is just a little too Lynch-esque for my tastes these days. As it looked like it was, in the words of my people, "fixing to rain".....

birthday recap...

I spent my birthday evening at Nobu -- the home of fancy-pants sushi. Robert DeNiro co-owns it and it's got places in NYC, LA Tokyo and London, so it's generally heavily laden with celebrity scene-ste...

Well my friends... it's been a crazy couple of weeks, in a 'wild-hair-up-your-butt' kind of way, but not nearly so uncomfortable.  I went to, survived and absolutely fell in love with The F...

As some of you know... I read about restaurants and menus all day long... occasionally I run into unintentionally hilarious mistakes on menus and press releases.  Today's takes the cake... Fried ...
