EAGLE ROCK STUDIOS is a professional music production facility like no other, sitting on top of a hill in Eagle Rock north of downtown Los Angeles, just minutes from Hollywood and the valleys. From low-budget demos to major-label CD productions, our three independent, fully-equipped studios can accomodate all your audio needs. Our rates are reasonable and our gear is a blend of top-of-the-line digital and select vintage analog equipment. In case you need help with your project, we have a great network of excellent engineers and producers to tap into.
When you need a break from recording, editing or mixing, you can relax in the garden with its great views to clear your mind. To quote Los Angeles Times Magazine, Eagle Rock is the new "Hipster Central U.S.A.". There are plenty of ways to recharge the batteries a block away on Colorado Boulevard, the historic Route 66. Everything you need is within a two-minute walking distance, such as coffee shops, Trader Joe's, a trendy bar and Casa Bianca, according to L.A. Weekly the best pizzeria in L.A..
With its good vibes, cool location and facilities to make it happen, you'll find Eagle Rock Studios as that home away from home where you can never play too loud.

"We had a great time and the sound is so full. It's amazing! Recording with you guys was the best decision we made. It allowed us to get away from each other and relax. We really couldn't be happier with our recordings on another plain of existence than our old demo tracks. [Engineer] Dave was great. He could do anything we asked him, made suggestions, and was infinitely patient..."
-Lee Butcher (Oblique)
"Kim and I were pretty exhausted during and after the shoot, but I heard the song after it was mixed and it sounds fantastic! Alicia was also impressed. Kim had nothing but the best things to say about you and [engineer] Kevin and the studio. The environment was just so welcoming, and everyone was just so accommodating..."
-Nam Chi Vu (Kamikaze Pilot)
"What a great studio! I was immensely happy with the product I got there!! And the vibe is great too. It's studios like you that make it possible for us Indie Artists to record a great sounding CD! Thanks again!"

WHY EAGLE ROCK STUDIOS?
THE GEAR
Our studio's core system is Digidesign's state-of-the-art Pro Tools HD Accel 3 system. Most, if not all budget studios that advertise their Pro Tools gear do not operate High Definition systems, but merely Pro Tools LE rigs, which cost only about 2.5% of a decked-out HD setup! For the vintage aficionados out there, we can even record to 2" tape to achieve that warm tape compression you hear on all your favorite classic rock albums. And, there is the option to mix your tracks on a huge, customized analog board, which ALWAYS sounds better than digital (aka "in-the-box") mixes, due to the "muddy" nature of digital bussing. For monitoring, we use a variety of speakers by Genelec, Yamaha and Event. Our microphones are a solid selection of condenser and tube mics, which includes most of the brand names every experienced engineer requests, like Neumann, AKG, Sennheiser, Shure, etc. There are also tons of quality instruments and amplifiers by Fender, Marshall, Bogner, Line 6, etc. available. Our extensive sample library is a producer's treasure chest and can accomodate any style and arrangement.
THE STAFF
Our engineers and producers are young enough to know what sounds fresh and old enough to be very experienced, no matter what your musical style is. They are patient, yet efficient, and know what it takes to make an artist feel comfortable throughout the recording process. All of them have worked on major label productions for artists such as Rob Zombie, Snoop Doggy Dog, Matchbox 20, En Vogue and Avenged Sevenfold. We hate name-dropping as much as you, that's why we keep the list of credits short.
THE AMENITIES
We can record up to 10 (that's TEN) instruments/amplifiers and vocalists with complete (that's COMPLETE) isolation. When shopping around, see if you can find any other studio out there, professional or home/budget, that can rival that! We can record your entire 10-piece funk band simultaneously to capture that live feel and energy that you definitely want on your recording. Imagine the time that tracking the whole band simultaneously can save you (remember: time=money). When tracking together, up to six musicians can dial in individual headphone mixes with their own mobile mixing stations. Inexperienced or nervous? No problem! Unless they are old studio cats, most artists get a little self-conscious when they're tracking in a studio setting. Complete isolation means we can easily do the overdubs and punches to fix all the little glitches later, and no one will ever we know cheated :). And on top of all that, we can film your whole session on six digital cameras, including sound. That way, at the end of the day, you can take a DVD home that documents the complete recording process. During multiple-day lock-outs, you can always rest assured that your equipment is safe with us. The premises are protected by a sophisticated armed-response alarm system, a 24/7 16-camera digital surveillance system, three fierce canines and a scary-looking owner who is a lethal martial artist and speaks with a German accent. The spacious and inviting lounge is equipped with Wi-Fi, an iMac to browse the net, satellite TV (incl. all the movie channels and Playboy TV), a printer to print out last minute changes to lyrics, a photocopier, a Playstation 3 and a Nintendo Wii with tons of games, a selection of hundreds of movies on DVD and a powerful surround sound system. There's also complimentary hot and cold Mountain Spring Water, a fridge and a microwave. Our bathroom is always clean and yes, there's toilet paper and vegetable soap. And if your bandmates complain about your BO after you laid down those drum tracks, you may even use the studio shower. We doubt you will find too many other studios that would let you do that!
THE VIBE
Our interior is designed to vaguely resemble a mountain chalet, with earthy tones, dark wood floors and trim, brick walls, red velvet curtains and a fake moosehead. The three studios cover about 2000 sqft. in total. There's a lush backyard with tree-top views, a pond, a jacuzzi, a BBQ area, Air Hockey and Ping Pong tables, mature trees, hummingbirds, squirrels and plenty of that fresh air L.A. is famous for.
THE LOCATION
We are centrally located in the artsy (but NOT fartsy) community of Eagle Rock, wedged in between the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys. There's always ample street parking available. You will find all kinds of fun stuff in a short walking distance and it takes only about 10 minutes from here to Hollywood, Oldtown Pasadena or, if you feel really wild and adventurous, downtown Burbank.
THE RATES (PROBABLY YOUR BIGGEST CONCERN!)
Our rates vary, depending of the scope of your project and - unless you bring your own - the engineer that you choose. We are always open to negotiating a package deal that will fit your budget.
