I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I absolutely love science. I am a nerd. I am a marine biologist. Fish are awesome and I love learning. That's probably the most important. Have a fish/ocean related question? Ask, I just might have an answer. Just got a new job - it kicks ass, and so do the people I work with. Yes, I do eat seafood - it's delicious, but no bivalves or cephalopods please. Originally from Michigan, but doing my stint here in Florida for a while. I love music and going to the occasional show. Independent films rock. My friends are fantastic, they keep me sane and hanging out with them is the best. I'm always down for making some new ones. My family is back up in the frigid North. Goal is to eventually get a graduate degree of sorts. That would be amazing. Food is always, always a good thing. So, to sum up:

College grad. Music junkie. Aquarist. Science nerd. Cinephile. Geek. Myspace addict. Art victim. Michigander. Disgruntled Floridian. Unofficial Chicago resident. Math phobic. Cuddle slut. Avid reader.

Stuff that makes me smile: surprises, sleep, flowers, muffins, the angry muffin, cider, Korean food, music (see sidebar), movies (see sidebar), wine, my cat, punk rockers, stickers, grape scented hair dye, cuddling, my computer, reading (see sidebar), my ipod, family, veggie garden, summer, my kickass friends, apple juice, shows, spiky hair, new friends, traveling, going home, free shit, coffee dates, wireless internet, cupcakes.Stuff that doesn't make me smile: high-maintenance people, stupid people, drunks, sleep deprivation, math, onions, peppers, early mornings, impracticality, stress, long labs, meetings.

My Interests

There are many, but most are science-related. Of course I love the stuff everyone else loves, like spending time with friends and going out, relaxing, getting outside. Really, if it's not covered somewhere else on here, ask.

I'd like to meet:

Another year is upon us! Joy. I don't think I'll do any sort of '2007 Year in Review' type thing, because as my friend Christelle said, there's not a whole lot I want to remember. Let's just say I'm h...

Some thoughts

There are still days. Granted, they're becoming few & far between, but they still surface now & again. Surface when I least expect them, and while I'm pretty good at keeping them at bay, it's not a ...
