Grammy nominated band Fall Out Boy hails from Chicago, Illinois. The band includes vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. The band has been together since 2001, and has released a few albums. They include "Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend" and "Take This To Your Grave." But it was the band's 2005 album "From Under the Cork Tree" that helped them find a bigger fame and fanbase. It also didn't hurt with constant MTV airplay of the hit song, "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" to help widen their popularity. FOB has described now as "America's favorite emo band" and as "a punk rock revolution."The band met when Trohman met Stump at Borders in Chicago. He introduced Stump to his friend Pete Wentz. They listened to some of Stump's tracks at MP3.com, and thought that his voice would be a great match for the band, which was forming. They had another member who dropped. The band wasn't quite together yet. But they soon had all their members, and would start their road to success.The band got their name when they were actually still unnamed and asked their audience at a college show what they should be called. A fan called out "Fallout Boy" the name of the sidekick of Radioactive Man on "The Simpsons." (They have said that at the time they were unaware of the character.)The four members of the bands had all played with other bands prior to the formation of FOB. And though the success of the band, the members of the quarlet all have some side projects. They signed with Fueled by Ramen in 2001, and were later signed to Island Def Jam Records, who they are currently with now.
