GODS AND MONSTERS ANNOUNCE SEARCH FOR BASS PLAYER IN PREPARATION FOR THE RELEASE OF SHAME AND FORTUNE
AND UPCOMING SUMMER PERFORMANCES/TOUR.
After over a year in studio and few local Los Angeles performances- the band has announced that as of April 28 they will be looking for a permanent new bass player in support of the track by track release of the upcoming album entitled Shame and Fortune and the supporting upcoming concert dates.
"
There was a lot of things we had to get together as a band when it came to the record and organizing our sound and the band in general.
We had played several performances with all bass programmed.
Now we're reached the point where it's time to expose the world to what we've worked diligently on- and we feel it best to complete the circle with a fifth member ." -Joshua Reed AP
The band will be scouting/auditioning and even taking submissions from anyone interested.
In a previous statement G&M stated that there is no rush in finding a permanent bassist. The band has successfully recorded and performed live without one up to this point- and that they will carry on doing so until the right person is found.
The first official single entitled Snapshot Devil
is scheduled to be mastered by Universal Music by next week and released days afterwards. Also look for a brand new interactive website to be launched around the same time with new concert/summer tour dates announced as well.
Stay Tuned!
Anyone interested in submitting material/info for consideration for the open bassist position feel free to contact the band directly on their myspace page or at
[email protected].

“SHAME AND FORTUNE†TO BE RELEASED TRACK BY TRACK.
Gods and Monsters have teamed up with Kevin Haskins of Love and Rockets and Bauhaus along with world renowned producer Danny Saber for their upcoming and long awaited release Shame and Fortune in which the band has decided to release in an innovative way.
In an interview with AP singer Joshua Reed explained more...
“It came to a point of after working on this album for over a year to assure that it would be our best work possible; that other amazing opportunities landed in our hands.
We were placed in the position to work with individuals which we not only grew up admiring- but also felt would breathe new life into the album.
Late last year we decided to release three demo tracks (Socialite Parasite, The Reputation of Silence, Held up High) to sort of tide over the listeners for the time being.
It was interesting to see the progression of the music industry even in the retrospectively short span of writing and recording this record.
Many the bands we respected and grew up listening to took over ownership of their music and the distribution of it. It wasn’t about us wanting to jump on any one particular trend- but it did make us reevaluate where the industry was itself.
As we rigorously trekked through a catalog of over 50 songs- I think we realized the significance of each individual track.
It brought it back to the time of the 1950’s and early 60’s where “records†were what we now call singles.
I think it brings the appropriate amount of attention and appreciation for each and individual song- other than having that “one track†and in return turning everything else into “filler†material.
We wanted to make it more about giving the songs their deserved individual attention- rather than following some current marketing wave.
That is the main reason we’ve decided to release this album in this particular fashion.
The album’s first official single will be entitled “Snapshot Devil†due to be released in early May. The band plans on releasing track by track off the album from there on out.
KROQ Los Angeles will also debut their revised cover of the Rolling Stones’ Paint it Black in early summer. Stay tuned for more details.
The band plans on releasing their tour dates soon as well.
The original three tracks released last October (Socialite Parasite, Reputation of Silence, and Held up High) will still be available online (I-tunes, Napster, Rhapsody) and in maxi single format. There are plans to release remix and re-mastered versions of those three tracks at some point. For now Snapshot Devil and Long Way Down are set to be the first official releases off of “Shame and Fortune.†Stay Tuned for more details.
