According to the Baltimore Sun (April 21, 2006),"Hassan Giordano isn't one of those political types in a three-piece suit, with a fancy degree. He's the guy who is up at 6 a.m., in a white polo scarfing down waffles, convincing students that politics might save their lives - as it did for him!The 30-year-old political strategist has been on a roller coaster ride throughout his life but is now riding a wave of success in the political arena. He is the former Field Director for Baltimore City Council President Sheila Dixon, former Legislative Aide to Baltimore City Delegation Chair Delegate Salima Marriott, former State Director for Maryland Voting Rights Restoration Coalition and former Board member for the National Right to Vote. He has served on a variety of political campaigns ranging from Kevin Slayton's 45th district wide bid, to Sheila Dixon's citywide re-election campaign, to the statewide campaign of the Honorable Kweisi Mfume for United States Senate. In 2001, he had served two stints in jail for dealing drugs. He had been kicked out of high school. And the Park Heights native couldn't vote. "When I came home from jail, the only things I could tell you about politics is that one of the parties was a donkey and the other was an elephant," he says."I couldn't even tell you what the mayor was. And I could never imagine in my wildest dreams working in politics. But now I can't imagine not. Go figure?"Go figure is right! In little under 5 years he went from the bad boy of the block to the bad boy of politics. Since his political inception he has been premiered on numerous talk radio and television shows as well as in every major newspaper in the Baltimore region. He has received multiple awards including Youth Votes nationally accredited award 30 under 30 recognizing the top 30 people in politics under the age of 30. He is the former host of his own radio talk show on WOLB 1010AM entitled 'ROCing D Vote'. He is also the former political analyst for the WEAA 88.9 broadcast Listen Up and currently serves as 92Q's Big Phat Morning Show's political correspondent for its VoteYoung program. He most recently worked as a policy analyst and community organizer for Justice Maryland, a prison advocate and civil rights organization named City Paper's Baltimore's Best Non-Profit. He now serves as Senior Associate and Chief Strategist for Giordano & Associates.
