Music:
Music makes up a huge part of my life. I'm primarily a bassist, recently focussing on Fretless bass playing. I also dabble in guitar and keyboards, and do quite a lot of MIDI sequencing and sampling. Reason 3.0 is my weapon of choice there.
In terms of listening... well, my music collection's pretty big, and covers a fair range of styles. Recently I've been listening to post-rock, progressive rock, some acoustic jazz and some trip-hop, to give a very quick idea.
I'm currently studying BSc Sound Technology at the University of Glamorgan. It's basically a mix of music, music recording/production, and some of the theory (electrical, physical, musical) behind the whole thing.
Television:
Science fiction, fantasy and comedy. That more or less sums it up. If it can contain all three, more's the better.
Lately I've been watching Spaced, Nadesico, Firefly, Red Dwarf, Stand Alone Complex, South Park, Monkey, Over There and Battlestar Galactica. Of those, only one doesn't fit Science-fiction, fantasy and comedy... most fit a couple. :)
Books:
I've always loved Pratchett, and I keep on reading his stuff. Lately he's been getting a little darker, a little more philosophical, and tending away from the whimsical craziness. It's a change I actually quite like.
I'm also a big fan of William Gibson, particularly the Sprawl trilogy. Melvyn Peake was a superb writer, if you ignore his later works (Gormenghast Book 3). It's not really fair to judge him by those though, as his mind was deteriorating rapidly towards the end. Tolkien, of course, Joseph Keller, Richard Dawkins and George Orwell also make for good reads.
Heroes:
Not really.
