About Me

I was born in San Francisco, California about 100 years ago, but grew up in the North Bay. I am happily married to the most wonderful man in the world and we make our home in the Sierra.John at Slab Creek this year:Friends and Family (still under construction):
One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my girlfriends on our annual Chique (chick) Trip to the Northern California Coast. We decided to all bring something to share with the group last year. Julie asked all of us to write two things about each other. She typed everyone's comments and gave them to us after our trip. Here is a photo of the S.L.U.T.S. (Sophisticated Ladies Under Tremendous Stress) on our trip. Following is "all about me" according to my friends:All About Me - by my friends:
She has a great laugh.
When she laughs she makes you feel you are funny.
She has a huge heart.
She will embrace you with both arms and it makes you feel special.
She greets you with love, enthusiasm and excitement as if you're a long lost friend she hasn't seen for years and has missed so much even when she saw you just yesterday.
She makes you feel loved, needed and wanted.
She tells it like it is.
Her honesty and ability to express herself is powerful, yet simple and always appreciated.
She is a complex person who knows what she wants and values the truly important things in life.
She is a really strong person who isn't afraid to show what she cares about and isn't afraid to be emotional and cry when she needs to.
She says, Me, Me, Me all the time but really it's not always about her; it's usually about us as a group.
She's a great listener and a great person to share your feelings with.
She is such a wonderful person with the kindest heart.
I am so fortunate to know her.
She has a great sense of humor and a great laugh.
She is a bunch of fun to be around and is always positive.

My Interests

All kinds of music, Disney Stuff, Cruising, Camping, Canoing, Boating, Traveling, Scrapbooking, Photography,I LOVE THE OCEAN, and more detailed info as follows:

I have been collecting Disney memorabilia, specifically Mickey Mouse, since my first trip to the Happiest Place on Earth in 1962. I was four years old. Since then I have been a park guest over 40 times although I have always lived 400 plus miles away. This is our last trip to Disneyland for the 50 year celebration - April 5, 2006Music is my second obsession. I love all kinds of music: Classic rock, jazz, reggae, blues, some classical, some rap/old school, pretty much everything. Ironically, my obssession with music began in Disneyland when I discovered how happy music could make everyone. Since that first realization, music has time-stamped every part of my life. Certain songs bring back all types of memories: Where I was at that time, who I was with, how I felt - happy or sad, and what I was doing at any given moment.

The third and final obsession (for the last few years) has been cruising. We don't really care if the ship goes anywhere. That is a nice bonus, but we love the great food, meeting new friends, eating, relaxing on board or on the beach, eating, and just being on the water. Did I mention the food? I love the ocean, the sea air, the pampering, EVERYTHING!

I'd like to meet:

Real people who are interested in positive, fun and honest relationships. My best friend is my husband, although I have several great relationships with women as my bestest friends (some I've known my whole life).
"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."
If I have to be specific, I'd love to meet John Travolta (I want to dance with him!), Tom Hanks and Oprah.
Happy Halloween !

"Music is My Life"

Movies:

Some of my all-time favorite movies are listed below:

Television:

I don't watch too much TV, but make time for AMERICAN IDOL and SUPER NOVA (it's all about the music for me). If I feel like veggin', I prefer ANIMAL PLANET, THE TRAVEL CHANNEL and FORENSIC FILES, or any educational/medical/animal shows. I'd really just rather watch a movie when I have time to kill, though.

Books:

Anything by Nicholas Sparks. My favorite book of all time is "The Notebook". Other favorite authors include: Sidney Sheldon, Dean Koontz, Mary Higgins Clark and Janet Evanovich.

As my first strong opinion in the form of a blog, I'd like to talk about how disturbed I am by all the recent protests against legislation that is proposing a crackdown on migrants working illegally i...
