Over the last decade the disc jockey john walker aka "turn@round" has definitely enjoyed his existence in the underground world of dance music. Not long after learning the basics (w/ a lil help from a few close pals) this southern boy was rocking crowds from various residencies* around his home in Texas to crazy five day party binges in South America.
Just two years after taking to the decks Mr. Walker shifted gears and started pumping out his original cuts. 2000 saw his first release, a single track on a CD Compilation for a Dallas' local imprint, Chinese Records. 2002 would follow with another single release on Chinese, and then in 2004 he released his first full vinyl EP on Fair Park Records.
The record was a hit around the globe, receiving positive press, such as XLR8R referring to his work as a "hot spot" in north america for minimalism. 2005 followed up with a bang as his second release with MVM Records caused a bit of a buzz at WMC receiving nods from several industry heavyweights. 2006 proved to be promising as his original work and remixes were licensed for WGN's "Racecar Driver"
2008 gears up fast with Walker's first remix released world-wide on Beatport.com w/ Harmonious Discord Recordings. He currently resides in the DFW metroplex and is working on new material for future Beatport releases. He is also about to launch a new Tuesday night weekly in the DFW area,..stayed tuned for details.
