Now that I'm done with college and started up at a real job, I guess there is no hiding from the fact. Now I'm an adult. Except that, I still haven't outgrown the pony thing. I read once that one Mr. Russell J. Larsen wrote his own epitaph for his grave in Logan City Cemetery in Logan, Utah, and it is just perfect: "There are two things I love most, good horses and beautiful women, and when I die I hope they tan this old hide of mine and make it into a ladies riding saddle, so I can rest in peace between the two things I love most." I used to know an old cowboy named William Spurrier (we always called him cowboy Bill) who taught me to ride horses, halterbreak colts, and to enjoy raw turnips. He died about 5 years ago at the age of 94. He was my mentor and that epitaph reminded me of him in all the best ways.
I love being outside on sunny days just as much as I like my back touched. If I could have one thing with me at all times it would be a newborn baby calf. I love reading and listening to music, riding my bicycle, and gardening. I plan to learn how to be a taxidermist and how to witch wells for ground water within the next ten years.
