DJ JAZZ...BROADCASTING LIVE FROM L.A.

I'VE DONE SO MUCH FOR SO LONG WITH SO LITTLE...THAT NOW I AM QUALIFIED TO DO ANYTHING!!!Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, DJ Jazz’s interest in music began at an early age. Jazz was drawn to music, spending as much time as possible listening to Prince; Earth, Wind and Fire; Stevie Wonder; Chaka Khan and other popular musicians. Growing up he never missed the local radio mix show which motivated him to master the turntables and in high school he started deejaying school events. Motivated by a desire for his own show, Jazz would frequently sneak into the local radio station, to tinker with and learn the equipment. Eventually becoming a constant fixture in the station, the other DJs would invite him to their shows where he would sit, watch and learn their technique. This time spent in the station with the other DJs further solidified Jazz’s desire for a career in radio. During his sophomore year at the Cleveland School of Science he was presented his first professional radio opportunity with WCSB 89.3 FM, a student operated station. He became the Saturday afternoon DJ on a show called High School Radio; a show that allowed high school students to discuss issues that involved them. Through this experience he soon learned radio production. After graduating from high school, DJ Jazz attended John Carroll University. While pursing his degree in communications, Jazz had a show on WJCU 88.7 FM, a noncommercial FM broadcast station owned and operated by John Carroll University. In 1998 Jazz was hired as a board operator for WENZ 107.9 FM Cleveland’s premier Hip Hop and R&B station. Although radio is Jazz’s passion, he has parlayed his interest in music to other professional endeavors in both the music and television industry. From 1999 to 2003, Jazz worked with WOIO/WUAB TV Cleveland assisting in the production of the all news telecast, various sport shows and special segments. In 2002 Jazz formed a record label, Body Entertainment, producing tracks for heavy hitters in the music industry including BG (formerly of Cash Money). Since then he has worked with the R&B group Mynx, R&B soloist Erika Kayne and rapper Cry. He has also developed a production team, the Godfathas with Brandon Knew. Over the years Jazz has also done voice work for radio stations all over the country in cities including: Columbus, Toledo, Cincinnati, Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia and Huntsville. DJ Jazz was heard on WENZ 107.9 FM from 3p to 8p during the afternoon drive, the station’s most highly rated program.
