Queen Nzinga
Afro-céntrica & Kon-ciente
I invite you to share in my very own self-empowerment: MENSTRUAL BLOOD ART @ http://artfrommywomb.com or www.myspace.com/artfrommywomb
My name is Warrior Queen Nzinga, I’m a Queen. A griot who honours the regalness of her blood, her ancestral roots and her legacy of revolution and resistance.
Busted out of a double colonization (brithish then spanish) that was forced upon my people and was passed down to me. But the buck stops here, my offspring shall be free thinkers, free to follow the teachings of our ancestors.
Nzinga was not the name my parents chose for me, it was the name I decided to use in the beginning of my emancipation process. Enslavers took away our beautiful names and tossed-on the first name they could think off and it seems to be the same our parents do when choosing our names at birth. (all respect to due my mom and granny, but wendy was a name made-up by the writer of Peter Pan).
In pan-Afrikan philosophy, a persons name is a very delicate matter; a person takes on 5 traits of their name and or namesake, for wich no one should know the name of child before the child hears it and his/her first experience in this world should be that of recognizing the greatness within granted by the Most High, call her/him, Olofi, Jah, Mawu, Ma’at, Amma, Krishna, Ra
Nzinga is Mbandu (now part of Angola and Kongo), means woman of formidable strength, and that is who I am (proven over and over again). Also can be traced to Daughter of the River or Born from the River.
Maferefun Oshun Ibukole for showing me the greatnesss of You in me before I could even see.
I chose this name as the beggining of my quest for self-emancipation and re-education. I began this search few years ago and the more I learn the more I realize that the quest is part of the natural order of things, it has always been and it is neverending, the work is never finished as long as Maafa persists. Maferefun Obatalá Ayaguná for bringing Ma’at into my life...
It is the purposuse of this I’s existence, it’s the supreme being in me absorbing ethernality and seeking to learn the lessons at hand, one day at a time.
Who I am speaks not only for me but for my people, wherever you are, what ever you are doing.

I acknowledge that: evolution = change = revolution, and like many others before me, I support the resistance and plight for political, economical and social equality for all by challenging my communities, society, and the world to examine the true nature of our condition. Poverty, war, racism, homophobia, and all forms of oppression are deeply rooted in greed and lust for power and monopoly of our world’s resources, resources we use and need for survival, which means control and monopoly of life itself.
