i don't really know what to say without saying everything, but i'll try my best to keep it short and sweet. i'm 24, almost finished with school, and sexy as hell! just joking, but i could be uglier. anyway, i'm just here cuz i know a whole bunch of people that have joined and just want another way to be connected to my peeps. i'm a pretty intellectual person who doesn't have time to waste with petty or stupid matters, but that doesn't mean i'm some kind of elitist snob. i do know how to have a good time, and since i don't embarrass easily, i've been known to be a fool from time to time. whoever wants to know more will get to know me better. i mean, after all, i am right here.........

My Interests

Samba Yeah, I kinda like it a lot. I am even the reigning Samba Princess of 2007, which is somewhat of a big deal, I've been told. I like to go out to the movies, good restaurants, chillin with friends and family, capoeira, and engaging in intellectual conversations. i've also taken up crochet in my spare time just recently...not half-bad. Oh, and did i mention that formulawerks is my favorite clothing line? Well, it is. it's the official home of hustle magic...twinkle, twinkle, bytches!

I'd like to meet:

Afrikan Royalty: H.I.M. Haile Selassie & Emperor Tewodros Seu Jorge: "too swoll to die," in the words of my brother, EnochMusic Video: YOUNG CHUCK NORRIS (by SNL)

Music:

Can't stop the eskista! Of course, soul music never goes out of style. Stevie Wonder and Donnie Hathaway automatically come to mind. I've never been moved to tears by the music of anyone else. I also love old skool ballads, both English and Spanish, and rancheras always make me smile. I pretty much like anything that's not bubble-gum pop, metal, country, or bad r&b/rap.

Movies:

I have pretty broad tastes in movies. I like dramas, thrillers, action (especially martial arts), comedy (not romantic), and foreign films. City of God is one of my favorites, but so are Braveheart, Scarface, and Malcolm x, amongst others.

Television:

I'm not really home that often, but when I do get to watch tv, one of my guilty pleasures is watching Korean subtitled soaps; not to mention those hilarious variety shows where they're rappin in Korean, but they throw in random english phrases that you just know don't fit somehow...it's golden! Since I don't have cable, I catch up with good shows by dvd, like the Sopranos and of course, my favorite, Chapelle's Show (I'm Rick James, bytch!).Oh yeah, and I love Cartoon Network, especially the adult swim shows and Cosby Show reruns. Who doesn't love The Simpsons...
You Are Marge Simpson
You're a devoted family member who loves unconditionally.

Sometimes, though, you dream about living a wild secret life!

You will be remembered for: your good cooking and evading the police

Your life philosophy: "You should listen to your heart, and not the voices in your head." The Simpsons Personality Test or Family Guy? I know I do!

Books:

Anything by John Grisham is pretty good, or Dean Koontz. Michael Crichton isn't half-bad either, but the best fiction author I've read has been Gabriel Garcia Marquez. as for nonfiction, there's Frances Cress Welsing, Ivan van Sertima, and J.A. Rogers, the author of the volumes of "On Sex and Race."

Heroes:

Hmmmm, my father, high school teachers in the hood who care about their students, and single mothers who spend time being involved in their children's lives instead of dissing their fathers. sure, Gandhi and Dr King are heroes, too, but it's good to acknowledge everyday people who are doing the right thing.

In case you were wondering...(for all my Yehudim)

Just an advance warning: this article may repeat itself, but that's because I was too impatient to let it finish pasting after I clicked once. It's gonna stay that way because I'm too lazy to fix it. ...

Dr. Caleb Dube - He will be missed

It's been about a year since I've heard anything from him or about him, but I didn't expect the last thing I heard about him to be the news of his death.  This Saturday, Dr. Caleb Dube, proud Afr...

lifestyles of the broke and jobless

So, I've been in no-job's land for the past month and a half now, and it's not as bad as it could be, but it'd be even better if that young unemployment check would hurry it's black ass up and jump in...
