About Me

Chi~Caribena Designs is an artistic collaboration that combines a variety of Latin and African influenced costume designs and fuses them with the spirit of dance from the Caribbean, Central, and South America. Hypnotic dance moves and beautifully hand crafted costumes are constructed by owner, designer, and Diane Buckner and choreographer/dancer, Zenaida Saez. Chi~Caribena has paved a new and unique visual experimental avenue to present to Chicago. Chi~Caribena's performances focus primarily on the full respect of the country of origin through educating herself and other fellow dancers in understanding the cultures and customs that come with the representation of each dance.
Ciao for now, Di

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Everyone that shares the same passion for performance(dance, theatre, movies, authors, etc.) and loves music. I also want to met people who want to bring the island riddims and beauty of the Caribbean to them. Hey we could even come to your, "Hey everyone, I'm going away to the island party!
I also want to meet anyone who might be interested in having me design a costume for them or teach them how to dance.
I am also ready to take on bigger groups, one of my current clients is Malibu Rum. My costumes have been on the bodies of dancers in New York, Miami, Chicago, LA, and Dallas and next year in Hawaii! How fun is that?
I don't want to meet people who have even a single ounce of negativity or a crook in their eye. I have ran across people, in the past, who have taken the kindness from me and turn around and stab me with it by being malicious with their words or intentions. I've have learned those people lack something within themselves. Nothing from this point will apply to you so please remove yourself from this site. I do not plan on wasting my energy on writing about you so you will find nothing here. Peace to you...
