About Me

My name is Bethany Kern. I was born in Anchorage, Alaska, but raised all my life around the world because of my father's position in the military. I have lived in 19 different countries, some of my favorite including: Italy, Germany, India, and Taiwan. I am currently living with my family in Auckland, New Zealand and loving it! My ultimate passion is photography and God has blessed me with millions of beautiful shots thanks to my travels. As I finish off my senior year homeschooling here in Auckland, I'm deciding the plans for myself and the next 5 years. College? Maybe... Backpacking? Possibly... Photography? Definitely. I may just hitchhike my way across Europe -again- to document a little more of European life, like I experience it.

My Interests

My mother is my best friend and a freelance photographer in her free time. She worked 15 years as a scubba diving instructor so I was able to get my diving card this year. I love it. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, bungie jumping, mountain biking, ice climbing, heli-skiing, parisaling, and taking pictures of all of the above. When I was in Taiwan I would go for a job on the beach every morning. Unfortunately Auckland is mainly a port town and there isn't much beach avaliable for public use. Regardless, fitness is very important to me and, I get up every morning to run through the city.
