I've got nothing but love. It's great.

About Me

************HELLO. MY PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW. CLICK REFRESH TO LAUGH AT MY ERRORS - IT'S A GOOD TIME. **************

WHO
is this girl?

My name is Amiee, but you can find me most anywhere under the name Thaumata. Thaumata is a greek word that means wonders or miracles. I chose it because I believe we are all miracles, as is every thing we do. You and I probably met randomly on the internet, because something I said struck you, or something you said struck me. That's ok, right? To be enamored of a stranger? I know many amazing strangers.
I do a lot of fun things. You might know me from:
My Splice page My YouTube profile My Flickr photos My work with VH1 The Blog

The most important thing right now for you to know is that I am fundraising for the 3-day walk for breast cancer, and I would love it if you pledged me. Last year, thanks to the generosity of internet donors, I raised nearly $10,000!!! This year, I'd like to raise that much again, and I have also decided to head up Team Internet - a group of people who cheered me on last year and this year decided to take the challenge themselves. Team Internet is looking for teammates, so please, if you'd like to do this amazing thing with us, DON'T BE SHY!

Or, if it makes you feel better, SEE FIRST WHERE THE MONEY GOES.

WHAT
is the3day?

The 3-Day is the nation's longest walk to raise money for breast cancer - 60 miles in three days. Each walker commits to raising a minimum of $2200 USD to go on the walk, and net proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust. It’s more than a life-changing journey… it’s lifetime-changing. Because the 3-Day is not just 3 days and 60 miles of walking - it's a collection of moments, big and small, and memories that will last forever. Lace up your shoes and leave your limits at the door. The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a bold state of mind that unfolds before you like a 60-mile-long pink carpet of hope.

HOW
can I help?

There is something better than starting an army, I've learned.
It's realizing you're already part of one.
I realized last year that there are thousands of people helping with this fight. With ONE IN SEVEN WOMEN being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetimes, there are many people affected. If you want to help but aren't sure where to start, try this:
Walk with Team Internet! Click for info! Donate! Even $5 helps! Link to my myspace page! Put me in your top friends, blog about me, comment to your friends, hotlink my images, etc. It's all good. Cheer on walkers in your own area! Encourage your loved ones to get regular exams! Early detection is key to survival!

Look how many of you there are! We CAN change things if we work together.

About

Hello everyone. My name is Amiee, but many people know me as Thaumata. I'm 29 and grew up near Chicago. I like crazy people, spicy food and internet sociology. Currently, I'm concentrating on virtual design and community management in 3D platforms. I'm also planning my wedding this summer and a subsequent move to the UK. In my free time, I'm learning Spanish and selling my worldly goods. Oi!

I have HTML disabled in my comments, so pictures won't work. Sorry!

The Small Print

It's safe to say I don't spend much time on MySpace these days. If you have something important for me, the best thing would be to email [email protected]. Comments won't appear on this page, but I do check them occasionally.

And since so many have asked, if you are interested in making your page look like this, you can get the template (which you will have to customize yourself) here at eminentsyle.com !

Music:

I listen to Splice music all day long (job hazard) but I've got 130GBs between my computers that's just music. Favorites might be Prince, Joni Mitchell, The Band, Chopin, and, of course, Ella Fitzgerald.

Movies:

i like dark comedy, sarcasm, documentaries, time travel, gore and twist endings.

Television:

i haven't watched television in about a decade. ask my family - they think it's hilarious.

Books:

Recently: Blink, The Tipping Point, Natural Capitalism, and about 43 daily RSS feeds. Hi, I'm a nerd.

Heroes:

My grandmother will always be my hero because she fought the best fight i've ever seen - smiling all the way.

oh wait, i rule.
