Brad Huffman of Peach Melba Joins GUEST

Guest, Ohio’s most innovative and progressive jam/rock act, has just announced the addition of former Peach Melba lead guitarist, Brad Huffman. Brad’s addition heralds the joining of forces of two of the most talented and popular jambands in Ohio. Originally hailing from Athens, Peach Melba has long been one Ohio’s favorite bands and has hosted their own hugely successful annual summer festival called "The Peachtree Gathering" for five years running. Brad’s melodic and expressive approach to the guitar will round out Guest’s already stellar lineup and create an even thicker, more colorful band sound.

GUEST opens for Particle

Columbus, Ohio is not consistently a hotbed of live music, often getting passed over by bands for gigs in Cincinnati and Cleveland. However, there is a strong contingent of music lovers here, and we were rewarded last week with a double-billing show featuring Particle supported by the local act Guest. This was Particle’s 1st venture into the heartland of Ohio, and with Guest serving up some hot shows as of late for the local set, I swung on down to Little Brothers for what I hoped would prove to be a great weekday night of music.

A Look at Producers with Special Guest John Hruby

A few months back we took a peak behind the scenes, sneaking glances at the studio and control room to figure out how some of the musicians that we love best are making their studio albums. The jam scene is packed with musicians who are making amazing music on stage but seem to never be able to put it together just right in the studio. The Dead’s struggles in the studio are well documented, and of the dozens of studio records that they put out, only a few are recognized as true studio masterpieces. Phish themselves struggled in the studio and never really quite figured out how to capture what made them exciting on stage on a studio record.
