About Me

Living in the Moment + + + + + Destroying trends, smashing through adversaries, and perfecting the art of being; Illy emcee's album "Living in the Moment" is here to forge ahead, and rearrange the current sound of hip-hop. Geared towards the educated consumer, this album is laced with engaging lyrical content and rock solid production. Working with German based hip-hop phenom, Minnox, as well as Philly based artists, Dstar, J Smooth, and Ducketts; Illy focuses on bringing back quality and creativity to music.
Moving from Baltimore, to Philadelphia proved a prosperous relocation. Linking up with the likes of Armmani, Sharpness, and Messinain, he could be heard at Diesel Boyâ€™s infamous club night, Platinum. Illy also set it off the second friday of every month, with Mental Sharp at "the free hip hop party".
On the production side, Illy forms the "Brigade" with Noisemachine and Tension. They aim to please with quality tracks ranging from catchy dance floor killers, to melodic, vibing jams. Illy's work can be heard on Phylum recordings and the knowledge mix cd (may 2005 mixed by silver), as well as and collabortations with the likes of SS, Skibadee, MC Trip, Killa Kella, Spor and the Black Sun Empire.
