About Me

Growing up in Scottsdale, Arizona, I remember staying inside during the 115-degree summer days. One benefit of "my air-conditioning years" is that I developed an extraordinarily rich inner life. A lifelong inclination towards music led me to move to Portland in 2005. Since then, I have grown enchanted with this city and its thousand charms -- most notably its inhabitants.I am a budding musician, have thousands of CD's, and manage a music store. I collect books on my shelves, write poems on the air, and gather stories to my heart. Coffee before noon and beer after three, water between these and tea before bed. I refrain from eating animals and their byproducts and am convinced that organic is the way to go when buying produce. Sometimes silent, at other times very expressive, it is obvious that I love living and communicating. I enjoy meeting people and am a friend to all who don't frown while they go about their business. If you pass me on the sidewalk on a rainy day, I will likely be quietly amused at something that has captured my fancy; if sunny, I will be whistling a song with startling accuracy. If you recognize it, come and introduce yourself!

My Interests

Attending concerts; archiving concerts of taper-friendly bands; reading novels; developing new ways to whistle; talking about abstractions; singing in public; connecting to people on a meaningful level; laughing and allowing my mind to wander. I like cycling through the Portland streets and hiking around town.

I'd like to meet:

Outside-the-box thinkers. People who love music. Kind people are my kind of people -- and hippies are, too. If you can see how you can change the world one person at a time, then I want to meet you. I especially am attracted to those who aren't afraid to be themselves.
