We've just launched the video for our latest signing Rod Thomas whose single, 'Your Love Is A Tease' is released on May 21st. The buzz around this talented young artist has been amazing, and if you check it out you'll see and hear why:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the wonderful world of North&South and its merry band of, erm, bands. It's a real joy working here at the moment. Not only are we able to enjoy the ongoing brilliance of Kaputt and La Frange, but we're now the proud, doting parents of our newest addition Rod Thomas.
Rod Thomas is already making quite a name for himself on the live circuit, his hard work and great performances earning him a slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival. He's definitely worth checking out there or before if you're lucky enough to live near one of his upcoming shows. Head over to his myspace page to check out more tunes and get all the live dates. And don't forget to add yourself as a friend so he can keep you up to date on all his news.
North&South will be releasing Rod's new single Your Love is a Tease in the next couple of months (release date TBC) but the demo version is here if you want a preview and there are more songs on his site for you to enjoy.
But let's not forget you can still purchase previous N&S releases, La Frange's Fashion and 'Dishes' from Anglo-German outfit Kaputt, the new band from former Mercury-nominated outfit the Go! Team’s multi-instrumentalist Silke Steidinger. It's a winner, you know that, you can hear it...
And it's not just us who think it's great, here's what the really cool kids who sometimes let us hang out with them are saying:
“A classic.†John Kennedy, XFM
“Combining Kim Gordon style angst with lyrics about doing the dishes and listening to people having sex next door…thrilling stuff.†Dazed&Confused
“An angry, gloriously repetitive Sonic Youth-style intro gives way to a Krautish indie romp. Ice-cool indie rock to make your heart glow.†Tunetribe
“It’s a safe wager that had Peel been around this cutie may well have been gathering votes at such a pace that the top spot for the Festive 50 would have been a bets off foregone conclusion.†Losingtoday.com
“Irresistible...moody and memorable.†Roomthirteen.com

“With the wit and humour of Art Brut but better tunes...Fashion is a gloriously repetitive mocking of tight-jeaned sheep. It's catchy as net-raising day on a trawler.†Source Magazine
