About Me

On August 24, 2000 the domain name www.MyTexasMusic.com was registered because a new idea had been born. Songs.com was gone and there was no voice for unsigned Texas musicians. Already in existence were three websites dedicated to retail sales of Texas music. But something was missing. Each of them had strengths but all of them had an overwhelming weakness. They had each failed to unite Texas musicians into one group who could speak with one voice.
In September 2000, MyTexasMusic began with four artists who had mail order available on their websites. Those artists were co-founder Lucky Boyd himself, along with Grady Lee, Diane Craig, and Christy Claxton.

Today, more than 600 members sell their merchandise through MyTexasMusic.com.

To join MyTexasMusic, you must have a Texas connection. If you can meet one of the following requirements, you can qualify: - born in Texas - live in Texas - spend ten years living in Texas as a performer - perform extensively in Texas - appear on the Texas Music Chart Click here to see our other requirements.

Most performers have enough to do without having to worry about the retail end of their career. We help in that area. Most performers have enough to do without having to worry about finding career-building opportunities. We help in that area. We want you to perform, sell your CDs at your shows, and send people to your website. We will help you from there. You can get people to sign up for your mailing list, purchase your products, and keep track of your shows. We will help you coordinate all your online efforts for maximum profit. We pay based on a percentage, so you can always know what your cut will be. With the percentages we pay you, and the fact that we have no membership fees, no annual fees, and only a small setup fee, you can make more with MyTexasMusic than with other retailers. If you don't have products yet, we can still show you how to make money with your site.

The site has several types of membership available. Platinum Members pay a one-time $25.00 set up fee for one title (additional titles $10.00) , Gold Members pay a one-time $15.00 setup fee. For more information on memberships check www.mytexasmusic.com.
