About Me

Born and raised just outside of Fort Worth, TX I grew up in family with a tremendous value on education and a love for music that all my family shares as well. I went to high school in the DFW area (HHS in Haltom City SON!... WHAT!!!)and after a very unsuccessful attempt at college right after high school I decided to try and get a demo recorded and see what went from there. At a small studio in Haltom City I did my first two tracks ever probably around 19 or 20yrs old(those years are a little fuzzy!). Due to some technical difficulties, mainly a bracelet I was wearing at the time knocking on my guitar, the folks at the studio asked me to come and redo the songs. After some discussions I was offered the chance to do my first album through their independent label. Around '02 or '03 it was done. Also, around then I received some nice praise by Malcom Mayhew from the Star-Telegram and a feature in the Fort Worth Business Press. In early '04 I graced the cover of the Fort Worth Weekly and was part of feature article about Hispanic songwriters with a more rootsier approach to their music than most would expect. After all it is Texas. In '05 the same paper nominated me for the FW Weekly country artist of the year. I lost and the bitterness eventually wore off. In the fall of '05 I decided that I would like to pursue a degree...seriously this time. I eventually landed in San Marcos, TX. Now living in Austin I'm currently tinkering with some home recordings of some new stuff with, and sometimes without, a full band. I stay pretty busy these days, or say I do anyway, with music, life and staying out of trouble (sometimes a futile effort) but as soon as I can I'll keep coming back out there with more good stuff.
