WE WILL MAKE EVERYTHING METAL!!! BLACKER THAN THE BLACKEST BLACK ... TIMES INFINITY!!!

About Me

To know me is to, well, tolerate me. I enjoy many aspects of the "lower arts," particularly metal and pro wrestling, both of which get a rather unfair rep by society at large. I hope to at least partially disprove the old stereotypes of metal/wrestling enthusiasts. I'm pretty open-minded of most things/kinds of people, probably because my college experience was spent with all types of "outsiders": punks, goths, metalheads, you name it. I'm something of an "outsider" myself I suppose, but you wouldn't know it just from looking at me.Basically, my life is fairly quiet and free of drama. I'm married very happily, and generally enjoy myself.

My Interests

Metal, sociology, journalism, pro wrestling

I'd like to meet:

Old friends, new friends, wrestling and metal enthusiasts. Basically, anyone I share common interests with or someone who can appreciate a somewhat warped sense of humor/view of the world.

Music:

Basically, lots of metal:
Iron Maiden (BEST. METAL. BAND. EVER.)
High on Fire
In Flames
Immortal
I
Dark Tranquillity
Death
Nine Inch Nails
Satyricon
Opeth
Mastodon
Gojira
Celtic Frost
Queens of the Stone Age
System of a Down
Agalloch
Fear Factory
Motorhead
Turbonegro
Enslaved
Early Man
Katatonia
Lacuna Coil
Lamb of God
Megadeth
Metallica (first four albums, dude)
Anthrax
SLAYER!!!
Emperor
Mayhem
Meshuggah
Jesu
Pelican
Trivium
Isis
Nightwish
At The Gates
Lots of bands.
Non-metal raves: Bob Mould/Husker Du/Sugar
Bloc Party
Franz Ferdinand
TV On The Radio
Interpol
Morrissey/The Smiths

And a ton of 1980s stuff:
Peter Gabriel
Def Leppard
Prince
NWA

So there's enough variety to keep things interesting, but most of the time, I'm listening to metal.

Movies:

Pulp Fiction and most any Tarantino movie
Star Wars series
Kevin Smith's first four movies, although that guy's an egotist asshole
Indiana Jones series
SHAFT.
I generally like action movies, comedies, 80s movies, some indie movies.
In honor of the holiday season, here's a special video, concerning the Greatest American Movie of All Time:

Television:

The Simpsons
Doctor Who and its spinoffs
Lost
The Office
Battlestar Galactica
Desperate Housewives
The Shield
Monday Night Raw, but NOT ECW OR SMACKDOWN. THOSE SHOWS COMPLETELY BLOW. RAW only MOSTLY blows, but it's still WWE's best offering. Not saying much.
TNA Impact!
24
I'm a big fan of the recently cancelled Gilmore Girls and The O.C., as well.
VH1's stable of reality shows
Days of Our Lives
Pushing Daisies
Chuck
Bionic Woman

Books:

Recent reads: "Cat's Cradle," "Bluebeard," and "Hocus Pocus" by Kurt Vonnegut, and a ton of comics and graphic novels.

Heroes:

My late grandfather; Steve Jobs; Kurt Vonnegut; Patrick Swayze; The Iron Sheik; Joseph Mascolo, aka TV's Stefano DiMera of "Days of Our Lives" fame; Stone Cold Steve Austin; Chris Jericho; and Bruce Dickinson.

Dave Meltzer can kiss my ass

Here's my totally biased, completely out-of-my-ass view on the year that was 2007 in wrestling, a year I saw only like 3 or 4 PPVs and only watched 30 minutes of RAW, most of Impact! and absolutely no...
