About Me

19 year old Jer Coons would have won American Idol, but he slept thru the audition.
Raised by a family of marsupials until the age of six, Jer eventually found a home in the Green Mountains of Vermont. His pop songwriting tendencies left him largely ignored due to the region’s affinity for granola munching and doing the hippie-shake. Ignored that is, until now.
Jer hit the ground running in 2008, with an impressive batch of new songs earning him comparisons to a younger John Mayer, or an older Hanson (Mmmbop Hanson that is) and everything else in between. He’s cut his chops playing shows with acts ranging from Teddy Geiger to Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and has performed at dozens of northeast colleges and high schools, often times with nothing more than his acoustic guitar and a book of knock knock jokes. Jer can frequently be found after headlining gigs mingling with his adoring fans with a bashful grin on his face.
And boy, can this kid write a pop song.
Armed with drop dead catchy melodies, boyish good looks and a charm equal to or greater than Paris Hilton, Jer is poised for national recognition during the coming year. In the meantime, look for Jer Coons on a crowded street near you.

The way a kick drum and bass hit together. The right balance of Lows, Mids, and Highs. Saturated tubes. Playing just enough to get your point across, without stepping on any toes. Fresh guitar strings. Lyrics that really resonate, because mathematically speaking, every note, riff, and chord was made long before you thought you came up with it. I want to find a way to say something fresh, yet still fit within the constraints of the pop idiom. I want to make people feel something.
