Living in a nudist colony must take all the fun out of Halloween

About Me

I am a disgruntled graduate student, hardcore Duke basketball fan, music-maker wanna-be, bar fly, and above all, a good and loyal friend.
I grew up in Southwest Florida with my two younger sisters, then attended Duke University. While there, I founded a sketch comedy group, Inside Joke, and directed an all-female a cappella group, Deja Blue. I also bartended at the Hideaway in its last year of glory. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in May 2003. Since then, I've come to Nashville to pursue a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt, or at least that's what pays the bills. I enjoy chilling with my friends, watching college basketball (go blue devils!), catching some live music, and talking with just about anyone who will listen and offer a good story in return.
In my free time, I volunteer at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in the NICU, I sing with the Nashville Chamber Singers, and I am a staff singer at St. George's Episcopal. More than anything I love just chilling at the bar and catching a game with a few beers and a few friends.

My Interests

Duke Basketball, college and pro football, volleyball, swimming, good music, good friends

My dad was visiting me during this game when I was a sophomore. He told me "Go down to the bar, have a good time." He also turned the game off with 1:23 to go. I give you: The Miracle Minute.

Needless to say, we won in overtime. I hugged people I didn't know. I drunkenly woke my dad up when I got back to my room. We won the championship that year. 'Twas incredible.

I'd like to meet:

Fun people with something to offer (get your mind out of the gutter, sickos)
People who can spell

Music:

Living in Nashville has really made me appreciate a good live performance above anything else. I'm a sucker for a guy and his guitar.

Movies:

Fight Club, Rounders, Pool Hall Junkies, High Fidelity, About a Boy, Italian Job, any sort of caper movie really appeals to me

Television:

LOST, House, Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, My Name is Earl, The Soup, 24 on occasion....wow, I watch too much TV.

Books:

Cat's Cradle, Player Piano, Bluebeard, anything by Kurt Vonnegut, High Fidelity, About a Boy, Fever Pitch, anything by Nick Hornby. I pretty much pick an author, read everything he/she ever wrote, then move on. Any suggestions are always welcome!

Ok...I'm sick of my music again

So Sloane, my usual go-to guy on music, has admitted that he's worthless for the time being. So...anyone have any ideas? I need something to listen to other than nerds typing.
