Tug-of-war is a punk/hardcore band formed in 2005 in the small town of Trieste located just outside Venice, Italy. The band was heavily influenced by Canadian & American hardcore scene (Propagandhi, Belvedere, Lagwagon, Pennywise) and is known for playing fast punk/hc with catchy melodies, while lyrical themes vary from political protests and critical analyses of human society to personal struggles and alienation. The band was formed by Quad (voice and guitar), Lainen (drums) and Omar (bass) and after a couple of mounth Tug-of-war recorded and released their first demo called "Slow Motion Regime". In 2006, after the release of second demo "Self-Destruction", "Young Luke" joined the band as second guitarist. The last album, "Try To Be Silent", released in 2007 for God's Eye Selfproduction (Tug's small, but totally independent label), marks the musical maturity of the group with fast songs, scratching guitars and protest lyrics.
