Director of all kinds of things you may see on TV. For a living I get to make promos, music videos and films. This is a new version of my director showreel - now updated for 2007.value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YfQQOpELi6M" ........Below is a little camera/effects test I shot recently featuring some firepoi - the proper shoot has now happened and looks amazing. Sorry for the heavy compression, it is actually filmed in full hi-def (not that you'd know from this). Thanks to Clare at Firepoise.com for the performance...These are part edits of the main thing ... ..

Now making me happy are real paintings, film cameras and risotto.

Movies:

Movies are great. I rate City of God very highly. There are others too many to mention.

Television:

A lot of TV is cack, though that doesn't stop me watching. Or complaining that it's cack.

Books:

Currently am fighting through War and Peace (I kid you not). It's fun (ish). Update - War and Peace is still all fecking Peace and not much War.

Award Winning fun

A nice thing over the weekend - I won an award for a cool project I directed and edited earlier this year. Not just a tiny award either, a super prestigious international Shark advertising award....

Autumn part one now (mostly) finished

I am now post post-production for a lot of the first part of the Autumn Fire Poi shoot. Bits and pieces are finished to various states and generally it looks very beautiful. Suddenly long cold nights ...

All finished...

...the night shoots are all done. I have slept again and the rushes look beautiful. Into a quick edit now and get the stuff on air. It's been worth it though!

Night One finished

Well the first all night shoot has been completed ... I've had 4 hours sleep and night two looms. Last night was fantastic, lots of lovely shots and some great energy from all. Performers and crew on ...
