Live like you mean it...

About Me

Semi-nocturnal, bitchin' vegggie chef, book geek, music freak, lover of life and experience... sucker for nature, travel and learning.

My Interests

Good food, good drink, good company; growing orchids; drawing; photography; writing; music listening in general - so good for the soul! Napping, when my body allows it; peoplewatching; brains; human behavior; running; and your mom.

I'd like to meet:

Those who are passionate and compassionate; thinkers, feelers, music makers and listeners; those comfortable in their own skin; fellow urban explorers; other students of life. Other students too, since my behind is back in school.

Music:

I'll listen to just about anything, but I love me some: Radiohead, Bjork, Aphex Twin, Interpol, Engineers, Boards of Canada, Secede, Cursive, Imogen Heap, Royksopp, Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service, Smashing Pumpkins, Secret Machines, Peter Namlook, Yo La Tengo, TV on the Radio, Massive Attack, Morphine, Tribe Called Quest, Underworld, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, Adam Beyer, Ben Sims, Kevin Saunderson, Laurent Garnier, Christian Smith, Francois K...Sooooo many local wax junkies - DJ Fame, Downdeep, Stadenco, Justin R, Catherine Jade, etc!

Movies:

Baraka, Donnie Darko, Waking Life, Ameile, Spirited Away, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Labyrinth, The Royal Tenenbaums, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Silence of the Lambs, Stay...John Cusack films, various 80's flicks.

Television:

Hmmm...when time permits: Food Network, the Travel Channel, PBS, National Geographic Channel, etc. I'd rather be outdoors.

Books:

Lately, some hefty textbooks. Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. House of Incest, by Anais Nin. Ethics for a New Millenium, by the Dalai Lama. The Waves by Virginia Woolfe and heaps and heaps of other nonfiction, cuz I'm geeky like that.

Heroes:

Yo momma! Well, my momma actually- she's amazing and I have heaps of love for her.
