Promote your Music on the Great Unsigned

About Me

Hello! I run a website called The Great Unsigned . The site is designed to help unsigned artists from around the world to promote themselves by providing a platform to discuss marketing techniques. It has been developed so that visitors can contribute, whether this takes the form of leaving comments, writing reviews and articles, adding links to unsigned artists downloads or contributing to the forums.
The Great Unsigned is only as good as the people who visit and contribute. With your help we can make a difference. Please take the time to visit the site , download some tracks or watch some or our artists videos. If you like what you hear or see, please leave some feedback on the forums. We're trying to build up the forums at the moment so please contribute if you can.
Don't forget to check out our blog. This is pretty much exclusively about marketing music on Myspace. It's updated frequently and can provide you with some useful ideas if you're not sure how to market your music.
There comes a point when every band or artist on Myspace has to consider using automation tools, in order to recover some of the time they devote to promoting themselves. Myspace can easily become a life consuming addiction. Automation tools let you make the time you spend on Myspace far more productive.
For example, automation tools let you send messages to potential fans, messages to all of your existing fans, add thousands of new friends over a short space of time and automate the dispatch of comments and bulletins.
Please check the Automation Tools page on the Great Unsigned website for more information or...

The Great Unsigned Blog on Myspace is packed with really useful articles on marketing your music. Since the Myspace blog interface can be a little tricky to use and makes it difficult to browse through older articles, we've setup a new section on The Great Unsigned Website. Click here to visit the complete Myspace blog page . This will open in a new window.
Every month, the Great Unsigned promote a different Unsigned band or Solo artist on Myspace. This month the track is Rainbows by the UK based Sunbox. If you like the track please post the following bulletin to your friends:

Track of the Month!

This month it's a track called Rainbows by UK based band Sunbox:

Sunbox

Please show Sunbox some love! If you like the track of the month, please help the Unsigned band or Artist by re-posting this bulletin to your friends.
This will display the following:

This is strangely compelling. Left click and drag the falling woman. Interact with the laws of gravity in this warped work of rag doll physics. Sheer genius!

Every month, we'll be including a Video which has caught our attention. This month it's the The Scrubs . Don't forget to pause or stop the Track of Month playing in the background before you play the video, otherwise it'll sound terrible!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Unsigned Bands and Artists.

Music:

The following artists are currently playing on the TGU Editor's MP3 Player. Check them out. I'll be rotating this material on the Myspace player on this page from time to time.

Domingo Kings

Delorentos

Invisible Wires

The Royal Wee

girlfrends

Sunbox

James Gibson

Big Block 454

One up the Acoustic DJ

The Hoi Polloi

Mind The Gap

The Scrubs

Remus

The New Town Centres

Low Frequency Dive

You can only appear here if your music is available for download. If it isn't I won't be able to listen it to my MP3 Player now, will I? This list will be updated from time to time. The only criteria I use to determine who's on this list is what's on my MP3 player when I do the update. I don't want to receive anymore one line emails asking "How to I get on your MP3 list?".

Ah! Books....
Martin Amis, Julian Barnes, Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro, Louis De-Bernieres, Iain Banks, Iain M Banks, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Alain De Botton, Richard Dawkins, Kurt Vonnegut, David Lodge, Will Self, Joseph Heller, Karl Marx.
