About Me

restless... clever... laid back... thoughtful... creative... affectionate... generally ridiculous... i've been known to geek out over music and art and enjoy others who do the same. i like what i like and don't take myself too seriously. the subtle scent in the air of spring on its way and the few extra minutes of dusk that have been nudging their way into recent days give me a cause to smile. i have pretty handwriting and questionable spelling. i have always been and continue to be a firm believer in luck and serendipity. that said, i am prone to random bouts of bravery not always in my best interest. generally speaking, i've a very pleasant disposition and excellent table manners. the kind of girl who'll send you a thank you note for something you did 2 years ago. i'm blessed to keep good company with a very broad range of people and can feel equally as at home in a divebar or a governor's mansion. always thinking.... always learning something. some people find me charming.

My Interests

I find a lot of things interesting... but if we're being general here... ummmm... music, art, mythology, wellness, hilarity... finding the magic in the mundane

I'd like to meet:

The inspiring and hilarious. Somebody with integrity and backbone. Someone who is already happy. I like people who make me laugh and people who make me think. Those dearest to my heart are the people who can do both. I love kind and clever people who don't have time for drama or pretension. Irish boys. Fellas who make the first move. Readers and rockers. Storytellers.

Music:

Helio Sequence, Crooked Fingers, Now it's Overhead, Ryan Adams, The Cure, Interpol, Black Keys, Wolf Parade, Tom Waits, Bowie, Modest Mouse, American Analong Set, Old 97's, Red House Painters, Morrisey, The Smiths, Joy Division, lots of dippy new wave 80's crap, Tori Amos, Bitter Bitter Weeks, Clinic, Pixies, Johnny Cash, Neko Case, Bob Dylan, Fugazi, Murder By Death, Sexton Blake, Deathships, Echo and The Bunnymen, My Morning Jacket, Whiskeytown, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Iron and Wine, Brighteyes, Liberty Leg, Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, Nick Cave, The Long Winters, Be Good Tanyas, Bruce Springsteen, Will Whitmore, The Amazing Royal Crowns, Drop Kick Murphys, Wylde Nept, Willy Nelson, My Scarlet Life, Led Zepplin, VNV Nation, Billy Idol, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, I love you but I've chosen Darkness, Prince, Howlin' Wolf, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, AFI, Marah Mar, Devo, The Pines, Autodramatics, Autocrash, sad bastard music, make ya shake it music, make out music, drive into the sunset music, good music...I'm always up for suggestions

Movies:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Harold and Maude, The Jerk, Waiting for Guffman, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Evil Dead trilogy, The Harry Potter movies, Fight Club, Braveheart, Garden State, Rushmore, Almost Famous, Next Stop Wonderland, Practical Magic, Donnie Darko, Shaun of the Dead and other zombie movies...especially 28 Days later, Dawn of the Dead (both versions), and that one where a zombie fights a shark... I laughed about that for days, Waking Ned Divine, Shipping News, Bob Dylan Don't Look Back, Valley Girl, Bram Stoker's Dracula, almost anything by Tim Burton or Jim Henson.

Television:

not so much. Honestly, I prefer music...or NPR... especially This American Life. But if I'm watching television.. it's probably some kind of edutainment on the Discovery or History Channel. I'll admit it, underwater documentaries are a little slice of heaven in my world. I'm also a sucker for Jon Stewart, Flight of the Conchords, and Adult Swim. I am a huge nerd. It's true.

Books:

I haven't read a book by Chuck Palahniuk that I didn't like. Probably my All time favorites are The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran, The B.F.G. by R. Dahl, and almost anything written by Neil Gaiman. My favorite poet is e.e. cummings but Yeats wrote my favorite poem. I want Kurt Vonnegut to be my grandpa ...and God Bless David Sedaris.

Heroes:

Now accepting applications...
