PETER-PAUL

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Peter-Paul started singing at the tender age of 5 in the Children’s Gospel Choir for the Greenpoint’s Pentecostal Church as the lead vocalist; where impressively he started to obtain skills such as vibrato, falsetto, harmonization and a four octave scale range. Those who were fortunate enough to listen to him in his childhood years were convinced that one day he will grow up to be a great singer. At the age of 9, Peter-Paul and his family moved to his native country of Puerto Rico where he continued his passion singing as a soloist in Spanish at multiple Christian Conventions, Church’s, Gospel Competitions, receiving recognition for his young Soulful voice and numerous first place prizes, never having to come in second place.Other than being blessed in Music and Song, Peter-Paul was a very intelligent young boy dedicated to his Academics where he was an outstanding, straight A, Honor Roll, Advanced student. In Junior High School he started to expand his knowledge in Music by converting his new found talent of Poetry into songs, as well as winning multiple Poetry Competitions with his Story telling verses that will soon turn into great Lyrics.In High School he took on Elective Classes such as Art, Theatre and Music where he became very active in School Performances, Competitions, Talent Shows and Sport Events. Once again Peter-Paul was the Soloist for his High School Choir as well as expanded himself musically by becoming a young Wedding Singer and joining the well known Fine Arts of Puerto Rico. Here he related himself more with Pop Music, where he was given the recognition for Best Male Vocalist in late 2002 receiving the On The Spotlight Award. In 2003 he was awarded 1st Place at a National Competition as a Gospel Songwriter for his Song “I Respond” by the Christian Youth Missionary Society of Puerto Rico. After graduating from High School, he decided to move back To New York City to further his Education, as well as to pursue a Career in Music.In 2004 he met Producer Dennis “D.Gatez” McCalla who interested him more into R&B with an Urban Pop feel. Here Peter started Writing and Recording his first songs at Sub Sound Studios located in Brooklyn, New York. In 2005 he started to perform his new material wherever he could; at Community Events, Festivals, Schools, as well as some Open Mics and Clubs where permitted. In 2006 Peter-Paul was signed to a 2 Year Artist Development and Publishing Deal by Grammy Nominated Producer and CEO of his Independent Label, Stephen “Kaydean” Phillips, for Dead Ninja Records.Here Peter worked mainly as a Songwriter, with numerous Song Placements on two Independent Albums by R&B/Pop Female Artist Janid, who released Goddess in 2006 and One in 2007. Peter also had the opportunity for his Songs to be performed by the Artist Janid at the 2006 National Puerto Rican Day Parade on the Jet Blue Airlines float. In 2007 Peter-Paul had started to record his Debut Album under the Independent Label; unfortunately such project was never completed and Peter will soon be out of his Contract.In 2008 he joined the Urban Spanish Group Omni where he recorded various songs in Spanish but soon realized that this was not the right path for him or for his Music Career. Now Peter-Paul has teamed up once again with Genius Producer “D.Gatez”, with a much more Modern, Soulful, Urban, R&B sound which will distinguish him from any comparisons. He’s currently performing at various Showcases, Open Mics and Urban Fashion Shows. Now in pursuit of a Record Deal, Peter is working daily on a New Demo, as well as auditioning for Labels hoping that one day his talents in Music are justly acknowledged.
