GARBO D'ASTORG has dawned with style and elegance in the world of prefab music. Rage and feeling is how you can define his music today: take the soul and spirit of real rocknroll, when wild guitars and attitude means more than just making noise, stir it up with a strong and stubborn personality, and you get what rock should have always been but has disappeared a long time ago: the art of kicking you in the ass with class Garbo DAstorg is half French half Scots, and he has spent all of his youth travelling all over the world. When he started back in the 80, he was already that dark souled dandy, dressed in black, ready to kill. .with a smile! His first steps on stage were with a rocknroll , punky glamour, post New York Dolls type band called CALAMITY JANE. He played the guitar and did all the possible places available back then and managed to build up a growing reputation. Two years later, realizing that the band wouldnt get anywhere, he decided to cut a solo demo tape in studio, which brought him his first record deal, with Reflexes/E.M.I. The project was called FOLLIES which turned into a band, but this time Garbo DAstorg was in charge of the artistical direction. The concept was very sophisticated and decadent as possible. It was a mixture of rock and cabaret right out of the gutter somewhere in Berlin, he used to come on stage all dolled up and looked like an atomic Marlene Dietrich ! a mixture of aggression and refinementThe band FOLLIES released a few months later a single VENISE/ PARIS TANGO that climbed up to the first place on the most important indie pop-rock radio La voix du lzard .They toured France, Belgium and Switzerland before splitting up. After Follies, Garbo DAstorg decided to settle down in Zurich, Switzerland where he worked for two years as a transformist in a local night-club called LE DIAMANT NOIR . He always had that obsession for Marlene Dietrich After that episode, he decides to come back to Paris at the beginning of the 90and get a band together, THE SUNSET DEATH TRIP. After a couple of local gigs and an album demo tape, he gets tired of the routine and lack of everything, and decides to fly to Tokyo, Japan, where he will release a single called SAUVAGE , a dark rock-dance anthem, with that Lou Reed touch in the voice. He played a couple of gigs in Tokyo, and Osaka, and published a book of poems called Paname . In the meantime, Garbo DAstorg started to take a keen interest in electronic music and decided to do an album, in which hed be able to express the depths of his soul, and put his unconscious into music. The result is a crazy 6 tracks mini-album " THIS I'll DEFEND", a real killer, a constant mix of all his inner nightmares, where Mozart meets Marlene Dietrich, and Count Dracula feels alive and kickin again! Mix the whole thing with some heavy buzz and noize in the background.and youll get this surprising and ultra dark slice of life. He performed a week in a gothic club in Madrid, the show was amazing ! On stage, Garbo DAstorg was ripping apart the crowd luxuriously, dangerous and fascinating at the same time.. By his side, Marie Antoinette, a gorgeous girl from India added some backing vocals. It comes with no doubt Garbo DAstorg doesnt play, he is. His mini-album THIS ILL DEFEND merits a place on the throne, by fare or foul. The twenty first century! or the millennium, whatever that means! Garbo DAstorg after having worked with different artists (Le duc, Exfolliz, Lzed etc) decides to remain in his studio DEATHLAB for a while, where he writes some kick ass rock'n'roll songs. While recording the GRACELAND album, he gave a few acoustic gigs in Paris, and was invited for a 3 nights acoustic mini- tour in Moscow, Russia.Then he played a few gigs in Paris and in the south of France. In 2004/ 2005, Garbo D'Astorg decides to record his heaviest rock album: M.F.C (Motherfucker's fan club). He writes and produces 12 tracks of wild but sophisticated heavy rock and has given a few gigs in France. 2006: the new album is ready! (oct 2006). Here's 4 new tracks of elegance and wilderness.
