About Me

Thanks for stopping by! I must say that I feel I'm quite a late bloomer with current trends like email...cell phones...ipods...MySpace...but hey, better late than never! Anyways, I was born in Manchester, NH but raised in Youngstown, OH. I moved back to "Mach Vegas" in high school and somehow ended up in world famous "Dover," NH.

Drumming and music have been important in my life for as long as I can remember. Why? I Don't know. There's something undeniably attractive to me about music, especially the beautiful sound and alluring feel of drums and cymbals. It wasn't until the age of 8 that I started to study drums and music privately. Like most kids, I didn't practice much though. After a few years of pursuing other interests, at age 19, I decided to get serious about music and drumming. Since then, it has been a humbling process of dedicated learning and persevered studying. I am very thankful that now, I make my living performing and teaching music.

I appreciate listening to and playing all music that comes from the heart. My first love will always be jazz in all it's variations: bebop, freejazz, nujazz, avant-garde, fusion, acidjazz, hardbop, etc... Also, I love to listen to and play music that grooves: funk, house, drum'n bass, reggae, r&b, downtempo, etc...

Currently, you can catch me performing with...
Fiveighthirteen- live downtempo, triphop, electronica, ambient dub, etc...
Scott Solsky- modern jazz guitarist

Hipology- funk/acidjazz group
The New Underground- Eric Donnelly's jazz/funk/soul group
Titus Abbott Collective- modern/free/experimental jazz group
Trio Encompas/Camera 4- freejazz/avantgarde/worldbeat group
Equal Time- avantgarde/freejazz/free improvisation trio
Jen Kearney and the Lost Onion- soul/latin/r&b group
Analog Method - currently dormant group that played live progressive house, drum'n bass, acidjazz
Mike Walsh Trio/Quartet/Quintet- modern jazz group that plays music by my favorite composers, Wayne Shorter, David Binney, Chris Potter, etc....

Most of all, more importantly than being a dedicated student of music, I feel I'm a student of life...always looking to learn from interesting people. I am always humbled and thankful for the wisdom offered from life's lessons and experiences. I'm fortunate to have a lot of amazing friends in my life. Maybe this will bring a few more.... I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
