About Me

I have 3 kids who never let me get bored! I work the third shift at a conferencing center. I like to make new friends and hang out once in a while. I try to keep busy, it keeps me out of trouble!

My Interests

History, archeology, music (R&B, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Alternative & Oldies). I love dreaming up ways to remodel my house (of course lack of $$ means I'm just really good at dreaming). Lately I've been watching alot of Dog Whisperer, Paranormal State and The Naked Archeologist. Also a "bad boy" personna will get me every time! Get Your Own! | View Slideshow

I'd like to meet:

Always looking to meet new friends and others with similar interests as me.

Music:

I enjoy listening to music especially from the 60's and 70's but also current stuff too. A few favorite groups of mine would be Queen, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Asia, Styx and the like. I also enjoy Marvin Gaye, Melvin and the Blue Notes, The Temptations, Otis Redding, Jimmy Buffet, Meatloaf, Prince (or whatever he's calling himself these days), Eminem, Nickel Back, My Chemical Romance, Plain White T's, Disturbed, etc. I like a wide variety, the only major exclusion would be some of the newer rap songs and most things country. SYSTEM OF A DOWN BYOB ..

Movies:

The Note Book, Pirates of the Carribean, The Breakfast Club, Better Off Dead, To Sir With Love, Guess Who's Coming For Dinner, An Affair to Remember, Kelly's Hero's, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Space Balls, etc... I am a sucker for Cary Grant movies, Also Hepburn and Tracy. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart so those types of movies would be my favorites. I also love science fiction and some action movies too. Jackie Chan movies are great, and so are ones with Harrison Ford. One's made off of Tom Clancy books are good too.

Television:

I'm not a network tv person. My channel flipping is mostly confined to TLC, HGTV, A&E, Discovery and History. I do make exceptions, but I'd rather feed my brain than have it turn to mush!

Books:

Do you mean other than textbooks? I've read all the Lord of the Rings along with a few other Tolkien books. I've read just about everything C.S. Lewis too. I also enjoyed Douglas Adams Hitchhiker series. (British humor is great!)

Heroes:

Rudy Giuliani - His ability to keep order, lead and show compassion for all the victims of 911. A very tough act to follow. Both of the George Bushes - Being the leader of a country such as ours is no easy task. The fact that they had the guts to do what they believed was in the best interest of the country (despite the aproval ratings) and stick to their guns shows a great amount of courage and fortitude. My Grandmother - She had the attitude of "there's nothing you can't do if you put your mind to it". She ran a nursing home by herself and owned an apartment building. If something needed fixing, she didn't wait for someone else, she did it herself. My kids - Two of them have lost their dads and one dad is missing in action quite a bit. The fact that they are still emotionally sound and able to give and receive affection is truly amazing - just like them!

Uncertainty

It's been really hard for me to fathom how someone could just randomly kill anyone for seemingly no reason. I am referring to the NIU shootings on Valentines Day. Even though I personally didn't know ...
