Biography
You can definatly say that HipHop lives in the South when you hear the Art of expression through the lyrics of the well-known Big Keene.

Big Keene is a independent artist telling his life through the struggle that was, to the way that it is. With many people looking up to him for things that he has accomplished, he also faces the fact that he has his haters. Being so he deals with this by feeding off the publicity they give and expresses it in the words of his. "I know i gots my hatas that dont wanna see somebody do big, an they cant keep my name out they mouth, but thats they problem ya feel me," the Atlanta-based rapper says, looking beyond the controversy that overlooks him."My life is very good righ now, an i still got alot of thangs to look forward to," quotes the rapper."What i once thought was my boys that i took on the road wit me to these different spots i hit up, i soon realized they was some crabs ya feel me?" "They seen the life i live an how i handle thangs, now they gon run around an start writin an recordin an spittin shit that i've lived, just because they want in the game."

“I mean these cats was ridin good, eatin good, sleepin good an fuckin good when they was wit me," Big Keene says, "but in all reality they aint doin none of that shit now without me but they still wanna talk about it." I respect anybody tryin to come up in the game, but dont ride somebodys dick to get there.""Thangs you hear me talk about in my songs, its almost 100% that its some real ass shit, but when you say you ridin this an you sleepin wit this an you aint doin none a that shit, you fake!"

“Theys alotta thangs i wish would of never happen in my life, but i live wit no regrets" says Keene." Coming from a man who knows what he wants in life and is letting nothing get in his way to reach his goal."Alotta people thank i was brought up in a rich family, but what they dont know is i moved around alot when i was young, my mom not knowing when my father was gon get out of prison an come lookin for us ya feel me?" "I was born in Polk County Florida an lived there up through my elementary years, til we packed the family up an moved to a small town right outside of Birmingham,Ala."he explains. "We lived there for prolly about 4 years movin to a different house everytime the lease was up, then we packed up once again an moved to Asheville,NC when i was in the 6th grade.""I aint neva live in no big ass house an moms never pushed no luxury whips,"he says,"we always lived in a trailer for as long as i member."

"I never look back on my past an wish that i was brought up any different than who i am today" he says, "I thank that everybody needs to experience alil bad in they life to know how good they really got it ya feel me.""My mom an step-dad kept me in sports an tried they best to keep me off the streets when i was growin up" he explains,"but when i turned 15 moms took me down to the auction wit $1500 an told me to pick out what i want." "That migh not sound like alotta money, but the jobs they was workin at the time, i was grateful for them to give that."he reveals.

With teenage years settling in,he begins to start seeing that work makes money."I got my first job at the age of 15 at a grocery store baggin groceries an shit part-time on the weekends,"he says"but that aint last long cuz the thangs i wanted, an shit i wanted to do, that money wasnt countin up.""So i quit that an went somewhere else, an i member it was summertime an i went to the beach for a week, was suppose to be back the followin week but i wasnt ready to come home so i stayed another week an neva went back to that job.""I been through alotta jobs growin up, jus cuz i aint like someone to tell me what to do an pay me what they did," he says"but i member when i turned 16 an was free to roam the streets, i needed more money to do what i wanted to do to my car an shit. So i got into carclubs an started goin to shows an gotta betta job makin good money an it seemed life was startin to lean towards me an push me to wanna do better." "I then went an traded my car for somethin new, went an threw rims an shit on it, shit by time i was prolly 19-20 i had been thru prolly 3-4 cars an 2 motorcycles.""Then 2001 came roun, i went an bought the new lexus gs-300,pearl white,"he says,"put a bodykit on it an thru some dubs on it, back then that was the biggest rim out.""With all that goin on, i started feelin like i was really doin big an shit, so i got alil dumb an started runnin the streets late at night doin shit i wasnt spose to ya feel me?""Alil before then i memba i use to hit up house partys an shit, where cats i was rollin wit at the time would be there freestylin an spittin they life an shit in a lil circle a people."he says, "it aint take me long to realize the shit they was sayin was the shit i was livin an had lived.""So i went home an sharpened my skills up an stead a goin off the top, i put my pen an paper together an created some serious shit.""By time the next weekend rolled roun i was ready to be apart of that circle,"says Keene," after doin that i started gettin the girls wantin me to do somethin for em every wkend, til i realized i needa be recordin this shit an makin money from it.""By then i had went copped a new denali XL an threw some 26's on it,"he says" that was prolly back in 2003,so now im really doin it big for this lil city i once bagged groceries in."

Big Keene's identity and fanbase began to grow bigger an bigger at this time, so he hit the road and would drive almost 4 hours to Atlanta every weekend to record a song in a professional studio."Comin up in a city where the only radio station ya have is country music,"he says" i had to jump some states an Atlanta was my destination.""I member id drive almost 4 hours to record 2 hours in the studio.""So u figure drivin a big ass SUV wit 26's on it 300/somethin miles i was usin alotta gas an then payin $75 a hour to record, then drivin all the way back home.""It dont take a foo to realize you gots to hit these streets up an start sellin some cds,"he says."An at the same time, i was caught up so deep in this rap shit, that i had lil producers comin at me gettin $200-500 a beat from me, they know who they is, blindin somebody like that wit that ole bullshyt, but look at where im at, an i aint heard shit bout them in years."Keene says."I was for once doin good for myself at that time, went an bought a house, lived there for a few years, sold it, an took that money an moved to Myrtle Beach,SC."

When asked about the music side of things involving his first concerts Keene describes,"Thats anotha thang them local promoters tried gettin me on was payin to open up for Big Name Artist. I fell for it once, but it aint take em long to realize that i had my fanbase established an i aint gon pay for shit else they offer me. It was prolly back in 01-02 somewhere in there, i opened up for Nelly/StLunatics, thats when Nelly was big in the game an shit. That was my first gig, which landed me a spot on the local news an front page of the newspaper the next day. By that time, i had promoters callin me wantin to manage me,taken me out to eat an shit like that.It wasnt prolly 2mths after that show i opened up for Juvenile (cash money records) up at the Asheville Civic Center. From there i met up wit this cat outta Atlanta that wanted to manage me, he was the road manager for Lil Wayne at the time. With him i traveled to Jackson Mississippi, recordin in one of David Banners studios out there, but that bullshit was a fligh by night an aint last long when i seen they was tryin to make money off me. So i can say ive had my ups an downs in the game, but it only made me a smarter person in the end, an i come to realize it dont really take a whole lot to damn get to where ya needa be in this shit." he says.

With Myrtle Beach as the calling point, Keene explains the life he left to the life he started. "Myrtle Beach was a spot i always seemed to end up in the summer an shit so i figured i oughta get me a place down there an introduce myself. If ya aint neva been there, lemme tell ya bout it. Myrtle Beach got colleges, nightclubs on every corner, cruising strip,2 malls within prolly 10 miles of eachother an then of course the Beach! Summer time brings the younger crowd in an i use to hit them up hard wit the cds an flyers an shit. It aint take long, an i was doin shows, meetin new people/fans thats seen my shyt on Myspace, to the Radio station callin me up wantin me to come down an do a interview an introduce my new single on the local love. I gotta clip of that in my videos somewhere on the Myspace page. I won that local love shit every week for prolly a month or 2 (longest someone had ever gone) , where the listeners call in an vote for the hottest song. But with all that good shit goin on, it aint take the police long to figure out who i was."Keene says," they gave me a $500 soliciting ticket for being in possession of my own personal flyers, id have a crowd around me buyin cds out the car, cops roll up on they ten-speeds down on the blvd. writin people tickets that was buyin the cds." But by then money was lookin out for him, an he had moved around to a few different houses at the time he was there, tryin to hide from the spotlight that had quickly surrounded Big Keene. "Im not gon go in to detail bout the shit i did down there, jus cuz i know these police prolly still today read up on my shit, but lets jus say i eat, sleeped, rode an lived pretty good there." he says

Needless to say, Keene dispursed quickly out of Myrtle Beach and is now calling Atlanta his new sleeping pad. He did not want to go to much in detail about his life as of right now due to some personal issues, but he wanted us to let you know that he is doing better then ever, working hard in the area that he once drove 4 hours to record a song in. Amazing at how long it took him to get to where he once dreamed to be, and the rocky road that it took to get there, to now living the dreams that others he once rolled with only wishes they could be in. Just goes to show you, always look out for your friends and have faith in what they do. You never know how quick their lifes can turn around and only leave you in despense of wonder.

"I always knew i was gon be somebody, an i hate that i had to do it alone, but i wouldnt change it in anyway."

"For everyone that doubted me i hate it for ya now, but i also have the most love for everyone who supported my movement an followed my dreams"

"I jus want my fans to know that this is what i do, im a songwriter, great performer, an very passionate in my skill"

"For those who wanna follow the footsteps ive taken, take ya time, get comfortable in ya zone, if its meant to be it will happen. Im at the point of my life where i dont owe any of my past peoples i chilled wit that doutbed me, Anything! Ive seen just about all of it, from somebody hittin me up, MEETIN ME, to buy the shirt off my back an the shoes off my feet. Real talk, (an he knows who he is), to homeboys rollin wit me, pretendin to be supportive, but actually ridin my dick!" I LOVE YALL - thanks 4 the HATE!

"Im known by some to be that guy who "thinks he can rap" but lets his looks take him to the Top! Well if thats the case, all i can say is it worked! For those out there who feel they can put my name in a song an thank they gon gain from it, feel free to do so, ya only helpin me out. Everytime ya say my name on a track, u lettin others know that u thankin that much bout me that it causes the ink to run outcha pen, to ya paper, to the MIC, then to a cd! I neva felt so loved in my life. GOOD LOOK! But dont thank ima lower myself to respond back to ya non gettin money ass! [BIG UP 2 ALL MY HATAZ]~ L.O.

Fortunately for Keene, he has something in store for his fans, Keep checking the Myspace pages for new updates. What once was a dream is now r-e-a-l-i-t-y. Show your support, let Big Keene know your thoughts and concerns.Whom some may think is just another cocky rapper, take the time to know before you shed hate down on somebody."i love my fans, true fans that is, not someone who jus wants alil somethin." he says
