About Me

Well...where to start? what to say? I am everything that my interests say about me and a whole lot more. I left Derby University in the summer and since then have been working at my old high school in various areas. I'm currently in the library and the exams office - though I'm not sure that's what I want to do forever! I'd love to be an author - but am not so stupid as to believe that that's a realistic or sensible job! I'm quite an antisocial little thing, not because I enjoy my own company but because I'm more comfortable with myself than other people! That's not to say I wouldn't like to meet new friends though! Right...that should keep you going for now. Until I think of something interesting to add, then adios for now!Get your layout at spaceboos.com

My Interests

Reading, writing, listening to music, trying to play my banjo, watching crappy tv, singing along, crazy dancing (but not in public!), procrastinating, trees, puzzles, playing silly board games, imagining, erm...I'm sure there must be more!

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to meet Dolly Parton - she's just the queen of cool! I'd also like to meet Old Crow again, hopefully this time without making so much of a fool out of myself (none of that K crap indeed!).

Music:

I like a fairly wide range of stuff (but I'm not over keen on anything too shouty), including; Dolly Parton, James Taylor, The Old Crow Medicine Show, The Ditty Bops, Less Thank Jake, Reel Big Fish, Mourning Widows, Nickel Creek, Steeleye Span, Hot Club of Cowtown, Singin' in the Rain soundtrack, Langhorne Slim, Jacques Loussier, The Clumsy Lovers, Jim Croce, Jack Johnson, Willie Mason, Jesse Colin Young, Flanders and Swann, The Bills...and so much more as well!

Movies:

The Graduate is probably one of my favourite ever films - it's just so good! Other favourites include; Some Like it Hot, The Secret Garden, Beauty and the Beast, Edward Scissor Hands, Down With Love, Shrek, Coming to America, Singin' in the Rain, Miracle on 34th Street, House Sitter, Bugsy Malone, Robin Hood (disney version), The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Aladdin, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Amelie, etc.

Television:

I will watch pretty much anything - I'm not too fussy, so long as it isn't going to make me jump or have nightmares! You can't beat watching Neighbours though!

Books:

As with all the other bits, there are so many I could put down! I absolutely love books and reading and couldn't live without them! Some favourites include; The Secret Garden, Michael Rosen's Sad Book, His Dark Materials trilogy, most stuff by Chuck Palahniuk, Grisham for when I don't want to think too hard, The Catcher in the Rye, Stargirl, Witchchild, No Shame No Fear, A Series of Unfortunate Events, A Brave New World, plus lots of others. I also really love, love, love reference books! I have a couple of shelves filled with dictionaries and stuff - I can lose myself for hours looking through them. Yes, I know, what a geek! Ah well...it's fun!

Heroes:

The people I admire most aren't famous but are my family. If I had to say someone famous though, it would be Dolly - just because she works so hard, has come from nothing and is always true to herself and still seems like a real person!
