A SMILE A DAY WILL KEEP YOUR WORRIES AWAY

About Me

Top of the morning to everyone. The name is Brandy Tuatoo Shimasaki and I am from American Samoa. My mother is from Alofau ( GO MEAESE) and my father is from Fagaalu (GO FETU O LE AFIAFI). However I must admit, I am a VIKING at heart. My goal in life is to be able to give my family and friends anything they want because they deserve the best in life. Of course God's teachings will be my guide to steer me in the right direction as I continue on this road called life. My daughter Tedy aka Natamama is my everything...my all. She inspires me everyday to be a better person. Children are always thanking their parents, but I would like to thank NATA for she has saved me more than once. She is my spirit...my soul. I love you NATA. I would like to say that I am married but like machines, sometimes marriages dont work. However I am lucky for we still remain the best of friends. I wish everyone a great day and would like to remind all Samoans, IA MUAMUA LE ATUA.

My Interests

Math, Science, Watching cartoons, Watching PBS. I love football and I love to play volleyball and basketball. I like to read. My favorite books are the Lord of the Rings Trilogy with the Hobbit, and The Chronicles of Narnya. DYK....that Tolkien and Lewis were the best of friends?

I'd like to meet:

SALAMASINA/Queen Elizabeth I. I would like to know how can a woman be powerful and still be loved by all.

Music:

I like FEEL GOOD MUSIC. Love songs are not what they use to be. Unless it is a song by an islander. We still know the meaning of love.

Movies:

Favorite movies are Romantic Comedies because I am a hopeless romantic. Everytime I watch a romantic comedy I am reminded that fairy tales do come true. A prince or a knight can save me anytime....hehehe

Television:

Right now besides cartoons and the specials on PBS, my favorite shows are Lost, Greys Anatomy, and Prison Break. I came back to Samoa in January for good and we dont have ABC or FOX. Can you feel my pain?

Books:

There was this one book I read at ASCC for english 150 about an Indian tribe in north east America. If you know of it please let me know what it's called. It made me realize how much I love my culture. I must never think just because I speak english or went to college that I am better than my Samoan elders because I am not. The American life is appealing but I must not forget who I am...I am Samoan. For parents and children, I recommend, "I Love You Stinky Face".

Heroes:

This may be a cliche but my family... especially my parents and my grandparents. Its great to have so many people to advise you in life. I love you guys...
