About Me

Well, where do I start, I guess I would say I'm a typical guy with slightly over average intelligence who would like to make the world a better place for all. In order to expand on that last cliche, I am a fine example of a socialistic capitalist. Yeah I know that's an oxymoron but hey neither alone is the perfect governance but trying to find that thin grey line of balance between the two I think will be the key to societal stabalization in the future. I am very interested in creating a wealth of living for all, I believe that society should provide people providing greater services and value to our culture the ability to generate financial independence however there should also be a minim aum standard of living for all. If you disagree with me then I think you should be poor or sick or debilitated for a while and then reconsider your opinion. If the golden rule really was applied to everyone's actions do you think most of us would pass, I consider myself to be quite moral and I don't know if I would pass myself on that test. So there's my speil on life, society as a whole has traded the values of personal integrity and fellowship for greed and apathy. Politics aside, I love my family very much, there is no way to purchase the feeling you get when your kids burst through the back door to meet you as you arrive home from work at the end of the day. My wife is fantastic she keeps me grounded and moving and is the greatest companion I could have ever hoped for. We currently live in western Pennsylvania or Westsylvania to those in the area which is by far the best place I have lived up to this point. The people are very friendly and the atmosphere is great, it doesn't hurt that signs for the best football team in the NFL are posted everywhere either. I highly recommend a visit for all those who have never been to Pittsburgh, pretty cool city just like a really huge small town. I dream of someday having amassed a huge bankroll in order to pursue all the projects of betterment that my wife and I dream up over glasses of wine on our patio but until then I think making sure my kids grow up strong with those same values is the most important thing I could be doing.

Music:

Hmmm... I like almost all forms of music with the exception of new country and bubblegum pop which I believe lack the inner expressionism needed to be considered true art. All that aside I guess I will start with my most favorite bands not in any particular order and then all the rest that have helped me through life at some point in time. Top five would be Counting Crows, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Death Cab for Cutie and Blind Melon. I am real big on 90's alternative as this genre shaped my teenage persona. So here goes a more than incomplete list of great musicians/bands... Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, The Screaming Trees, Gin Blossoms, Collective Soul, Radiohead, The Offspring, Tool, The Carpenters, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Bush, Garbage, Tori Amos, Smashing Pumpkins, Cake, Dave Matthews Band, NIN, Sum 41, Sarah McLaughlin, some Metallica (prior to them selling out...) Iggy POP, Beck, Janice Joplin, Weezer, Tonic, Patty Smith, Poe, Better Than Ezra, Live, Alice In Chains, Caroline's Spine, Green Day, Third Eye Blind, Jimi Hendrix, Howie Day, Everclear, James Taylor, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Foreigner, Blue Oyster Cult, Wanderlust, Bad Company, Weezer, AFI,. I'm going to leave space here as I am sure this list will grow in time... Recently though I am getting more interested in indie music as the radio consolidation going on is wrecking the unknown artist's chance of getting real airtime. Some musicians/bands that need heard are The Winter Pageant, Plus/Minus otherwise known as +/-, Pinback, The Decemberists, The Postal Service, All-Time Quarterback, The Honorary Title, Waking State, Derisory I am, Sunday Afternoon, A Sedated Nation, Mesh-29, The Orangutan Lounge, Saves the Day, The Shins, Smoosh, Spiraling, Mates of State, The Long Winters, The Starlight Mints, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, Sufjan Stevens, and Missy Higgins.

Movies:

Empire Records, Threesome, I Heart Huckaby's, Sideways, Napoleon Dynamite, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Pump up the Volume, Gleaming the Cube, Spacecamp, What Dreams May Come, As Good As It Gets, The X-Men Trilogy and All the Harry Potter Films

Television:

Not much of a TV watcher, I do enjoy old episodes of Roseanne, The X-Files, Everybody Loves Raymond (a little too close to my own family though) and of course Seinfeld. Also, I love cartoons any and all including Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, Dexter's Lab, Animaniacs, and all the old stuff Tom and Jerry, He-man, Flintstones and the like. My adult side attempts to watch the evening news although listening to NPR is much more informative and every so often I catch an episode of How I Met Your Mother or Out of Practice both of which are quite humerous.

Books:

Not much time for reading at the moment but I used to be quite the bookwork, as for now I try to read the EIR (Executive Intelligence Review) published by the LaRouche Foundation. I would say my all-time favorite books are My Side of the Mountain, Where the Red Fern Grows and The Jungle. I do get the chance to read many childrens books and I have to say Junie B. Jones is very amusing.

Heroes:

Anyone who has, is or will in the future stand up against injustices within our world and all those who have overcome oppression and poor circumstances to fulfill their dreams.
