OverDrive Division
Commercial Trance, HandsUp and Dance with Female Vocals
In the beginning of 2004, "OverDrive Division" was created by Johannes Ripken (Northstar Connection) as a project for Commercial Trance, HandsUp und Progressive Dance.
First tracks as "Bring The Beat Back" and "Remote The Bass" have been released in artist portals like MyOwnMusic and international music forums as free downloads. The reactions to these two tracks were very positive.
The style of "OverDrive Division" has a few elements of Drum’n’Bass, which grades up the sound.
In august 2005, the vinyl single "Fabio Vega - No Way Out" was released with an "OverDrive Division Remix". The remix was licensed for a few compilations. Two months later, another remix was released for the vinyl "Tokabeatz - Whatever It Takes".
The time after these remix releases was used to produce own productions. The new tracks have been arranged with female vocals by our singer Anne Holmok, who joined "OverDrive Division" in the beginning of 2006.
The result of this work is the debut single "Dancing Nation", which was released on 16.2.2007 by the record label "Fanatic Beatz" as vinyl and online.
In 2006, two DJs joined the team: Ralf Rieger alias DJ Reylo and Matthias Rump alias DJ Essence. After a few months Matthias left because of too much work and Robin Laß alias DJ RobStyle joined the team. Reylo and RobStyle will present "OverDrive Division" in the clubs and in the radios. Both DJs have gained experiences as DJs for many years.
The first DJ gig was the Aqualoop Streetmove 2006 in Trappenkamp/Germany, where we played the preversion of the single "Dancing Nation" for the first time.
In the summer of 2007, a few Remixes have been released to make the time of waiting easier until the next single.
Actually, Reylo and RobStyle make radio shows at the big webradio Technobase FM and present as Resident DJs regularly the sound of OverDrive Division.
In November 2007, the second single "Paradise" has been released and inspired the fans and DJs. This was the reason, why "Paradise - The Remixes" has been released in the beginning of March 2008.
At this moment, we work on the new single, which is coming up in the early Summer 2008.
Cosmic Squad
Hardtrance and Commercial Trance with Male Vocals
"Cosmic Squad" was created in summer of 2004 by Johannes Ripken, producer of the Northstar Connection. Shortly after the creation, a young talented singer and songwriter associates with this project. Marcel Tams only sang RnB music before this but then combined his prominent style with the Trance music of "Cosmic Squad".
The DJs Ralf Rieger (alias DJ Reylo) and Robin Laß (alias DJ RobStyle) represent "Cosmic Squad" in the clubs.
The style of Cosmic Squad can be classified as Hardtrance/Commercial Trance with some elements of HandsUp. The result is an energetic trance style, which is well done for the club.
The first remix release was realised soon after the creation. "Cosmic Squad" produced a remix for "DaSylver & Deefour - The Last Unicorn 2005".
In 2006, more remixes have been released: "Headhunters feat Karen Danzig - I Got The Feeling", which was published in England in summer of 2006, and "Align Left - Love Is All Around", which was released in octobre 2006.
2007 has been quite a silent year for Cosmic Squad. The single were planned and produced. But there has been a Remix of "Fabio Vega - Destiny", too.
In the beginning of 2008, we realised a cooperation with the english record label D6 Records and had a remix release in UK with the artist Alan Connor ("Dance Away").
