Babies, goats & baby goats....
Any of my heroes, preferably all at once with a few extra Radio 4ish comedians thrown in and Bill Bailey playing piano in the background.
My taste is rather eclectic but, having thought long and hard, my desert island discs would be (I'm cheating and taking albums): Simple Minds - Empires and Dance; Kate Bush - The Dreaming; New Model Army - No Rest for the Wicked; Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here; Led Zeppelin - IV; Page & Plant - No Quarter; The Orb - The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld; Primal Scream - Screamadelica; Leftfield - Leftism; Gorillaz - Demon Days and finally, cos I went all the way to Reading just to see them and 'danced' (jumped up and down on Mr Mac's feet) so much that I had to buy some Radox when i got home, Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am Thats What I'm Not. Needless to say I'm hoping to add the Lazytown CD to my collection sometime soon...
I dont watch films over and over - I can seldom spare the time, but ones that spring to mind are: Hideous Kinky, In The Name of the Father, Donnie Darko, Cyrano de Bergerac, Shadow of the Vampire, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, American Werewolf in London, All 3 Lord of the Rings films, Being John Malkovich, Trainspotting and anything by Luc Besson or Quentin Tarantino. And Jurassic Park was REALLY scary at the cinema, especially the bit where the goat went missing....
In the Night Garden, The Hoobs, The Roly Mo Show, Lazytown, Balamory, The Fimbles, Big Cook Little Cook, Storymakers.... What? They make TV for adults too???? Seriously, I dont get much time to watch anything regularly but when I can I like Have I Got News for You, and most recently Torchwood and a big sorry to all you TV snobs out there but I LOVE Big Brother! I've just discovered Shameless and am slowly but surely working my way through all the series on 4oD, I love it! I also love to listen to the radio and flick between Radio 1 and 4, my one true addiction being The Archers!
Your Baby and Child; Breast is Best; Raising Boys; The Goatkeepers Guide - I mean I own these books, I dont actually have time to read them or anything. My most recent purchase? James Joyce - Ulysses of course! What on earth was I thinking????My favourite books are/were: The Unbelievable Lightness of Being - Milan Kundera, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test - Tom Wolfe, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie - Muriel Spark, both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (read when I was in my teens might I add)and everything by Douglas Adams.
