: " I Have a Passion for PASSION,****** That's me in a nut shell.....I am/was the bass player for the **LOWER* EAST* SIDE** STITCHES**from NYC. I miss those guys alot!!! We had a great time touring, writing, recording, playin live man. That's where it's at! Not to sound corny but, There where times where I sorta stepped outside of myself on stage and would look at my band playing live at times I KNEW that this was "IT". Priceless stuff right there man! Ya know? ..............Anyway, so I'm "NEW" and living in Portland Oregon... and I saw this band.... right below from where I lived!!! They were a "Faboulous disaster". They blew the place out man. Just rocked my socks. Ya' know?! The band was "THE GAYS". I wound up playin bass for em, recording and releasing and album. The name is perfect cos it intrigues people. They hate it! haha but, once the chuckles subside and YOU hear the music...it was a bad ass band. Very creative, yet simple. CHECK OUT flying heart records for more info. I compare the band to the first DAMNED album. _____________________I was born and I, with help from friends.... naively, raised myself in INWOOD, QUEENS, NY ( A.K.A. FIVE TOWNS ) I then moved real quik to The Lower East Side of N.Y.C. **** ( where nobody and everybody belonged ) **** Got in a Punk/Rock band, Toured the U.S. Multiple times, Did Warped Tour & a bit of Europe. I MISS THE HELL OUT OF What N.Y.C. used to be...I moved to Portland Oregon with the most amazing Woman/Person that I've ever met because I felt that it was the right thing to do and, IT WAS!! Portand is beautiful. It has all that NYC has except for pizza, bagels, subaways and buildings crammed together. The West coast is NOTHING like NY. There's Rocks the size of buildings sticking OUT OF THE OCEAN!!!! Blows my mind !!!! Anyway, NYC is NOT the NYC that I remember & it's getting shallower by the minute. There is NO place like NYC but, things change and $$$/greed takes over..EVERYWHERE..Ya just gotta follow the migration. A middle class way of thinking I suppose. I just wonder when there is no place left to have a descent rent; what then? Where do we go? ..........ORIGINAL Hip-Hop Culture is what shaped me as a kid. It came from nothing, poverty and boredom JUST LIKE PUNK & Hard Core! yet it flourished with art, dance and a NEW STYLE of music. That to me is LIFE and LOVE __THAT, is what I love about living_(and holdin' my Boo at bedtime)_To me, THAT is MAGIC***** I love Indian head dresses, Jelly fish and ALL sea creatures....CHEERS!!_______
