Celebrating their thirteenth anniversary as Mung, the trio of Jonny Mung, Peeker and Hawg, have reunited to provide us with thirteen uncompromising pieces of madness. Recorded in the spring of 2005 at Winnipeg’s Happyland Studio with Mike Wright (aka Zip R. Head of Trouser Mouth) at the helm and semi-fictional leader Les in control, ‘We Who Sleep’ was born to represent the next generation of Mung.Ferociously punk and undeniably metal ‘We Who Sleep’ embodies our mere human existence surviving through today’s turbulent era. The album opens with Peeker’s ear-shattering declaration “I am the true power eternal†in Thunderbolt and moves along to Jonny Mung’s anger-raging assertion “We are nothing†in the title track We Who Sleep. Lyrically speaking, Peeker and Jonny Mung’s brutally poetic dual action vocal assault delivers us a not so gentle reminder of the punishing, yet bitter sweet realization of the lives we live.Passionately driven anthems like crowd faves Till Ya Puke and Satan thrust show dance floors into frenetically intense mosh pits, leaving thirsty fans screaming for more.
